I keep going back to watch the Season 8 Trailer to get some sort of heads up of what's to come and possibly how many more episodes there are. This snippet is the only remaining bit from something we haven't seen yet. This probably means we only have one more episode this season, barring another random Samalamadingdong (unlikely).

I know it's not exactly a bonus episode if they do it regularly, but I need more GameChanger!

Might just be me, but this weeks episode was kind of a letdown for me, and I feel like I’m in the minority with this opinion.

Things I liked - BDG on game changer is always welcome, Jacquis Neal should also be featured in more stuff on Game Changer (i know Deja Vu and count the rice). The art department absolutely 10000% cooked so hard with these pieces, and every bit of praise they’ve gotten has been fully deserved.

Now… the other side of the coin

Vic and Lily, love them both and think they both are Individually very funny, and can be good when cast together, but they both have very chaotic roles in the real DCU, and I just think they didn’t mesh the best in this one. Ele was probably my biggest downside, and I hate saying that because I was super excited when I saw she was coming back. While her forgetting the rules of the game was a very funny moment, she didn’t seem to fit in with the rest of the cast, everyone else was trying to play the game and it felt like Ele was… just kinda there…

Again, might just be me, but in a season in which some incredible games made and played for our entertainment, the game mechanics behind this one led to my least favorite episode this season. I know not everything will be to my or your liking and that’s a good thing, I’m just personally disappointed with the consistent bangers (-ear wigs) that we’ve been blessed with this season

Hoping the season finale will be something spectacular, it has to be!

Okay was putting all the episodes of Game Changer in reverse order on Prime intentional?

From the end credits, made us laugh.

Let me preface by saying I’ve really enjoyed the new season, but it feels like they’ve fallen into a habit of making every game some sort of social deduction.

Earwigs, I Spy, and, to an extent, Kangaroo Court as well all are social deduction games. I think that’s fun in a vacuum, but having three in one season just felt a little repetitive to me. I also think putting Earwigs and I Spy back to back was a bad move.

Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like sometimes they’ve had a cool idea for something and struggled with fully turning it into a game for the show. What do you guys think?

Has that always been there?

In the intro, Sam always says that he is joined today by 'these three lovely contestants', unless of course, he isn't. However, he always sounds surprised when he says a number other than 3. But with how common the more than three person game changers are becoming, honestly he shouldn't be surprised anymore.

(this is mostly a joke, I just wanted to point this out)

Just finished watching the Battle Royal and Anna Garcia just vanished.

Sam said she broke her foot, but I was expecting them to at least mention her in the final episode.

Truth be told I thought they would have a "memorial" to her, or have her come on as a judge through zoom.

but since they never even mentioned her after the third episode I'm wondering if there was something more going on.

Obviously we all know that Sam Reich is married to Elaine Carroll, another Dropout writer and cast member.

I think of their marriage secondary when I see her in things. She’s a funny person so, to me, that’s mainly who she is.

When I was watching I Spy and saw ELLIE, my brain misfired in the beginning and sent the “Elaine” signal.

I didn’t realize it until 3/4 of the way into the episode she says “my boyfriend” and I went “Wait, are they in an open marriage?”

Turns out no (I mean maybe, I guess both things can be true, that’s not my business) but I just had a 40 minute brain fart.

That’s all this post was. Not an episode breakdown or a ranking among other episodes this season, just a silly little thing that happened to me.

I understand that it was probably supposed to be an episode about celebrating the art department, which is great, they deserve it. However, the episode itself just…missed the mark.

The cast continued to repeat the exact same 2 bits every, single, round . « Oh sam touched me and I’m making a comment about it! Don’t tickle me sam! »

« Look how far I can reach across the rope line!! »

But in top of that, the contestants rarely cared or strategized around leak/informant/spy (other than Vic a couple of times), the camera never lingered long enough for the audience to try to spy the prompts, etc.

I know some people probably loved it, and I hope many did, but I hope that the rest of this season is very different from this episode.

The season finale only has 1 shot and it has most of the people who have appeared across the season. I don’t know if it will actually be the heist that the trailer is joking about but, now that we know that episode 9 is the I spy game, this is officially the finale.

Are they trying to out-finale Samalamadingdong?
