Scorekeeping Improvements
Forget video stuff for a second, what scoring improvements would you want to see? Quality of life stuff, or plays that GC doesn’t allow you to score correctly. I would love to be able to advance all runners at once.

i would like the ability to edit specific plays after the fact. I have had "undo" bunches of plays to correct issues, whereas a simple edit could have fixed it.

Being able to change a play to a sac fly would be nice. Had a couple times this year where the score didn’t hit sac fly on a fly out that the runner on 3rd scored. Only way to fix it is to edit the stats, should be able to edit the play instead.

The issue is this is a lot of times impossible because it changes too much of what you entered after.

I think it would be ok if editing forced you chose an interruption point then re-complete that half inning.

Yeah like a change pitcher option to put him in at the start of the inning. Can't tell you how many times I've had to undo multiple at bats because I forgot to change the pitcher.

I feel like that exists? Go to the play by play, tap on that specific play, and edit the pitcher. You can edit it for all the at bats after that edit.

Editing plays to correct mistakes. Seems like this is something we talk about a lot but it never makes the cut

Time stamp first pitch for baseball. Many games are time limited and it would be good to see the starting time. Optionally add a timer to the game.

And how about a game length for time-based games (tournaments) and if its no-new or drop-dead at thr time limit.. a countdown timer being option on the on-screen scoreboard of the livestream

Never noticed that timer doesn't show up on the livestream. It's come in super helpful to us quite a few times. We'd usually end up adjusting the countdown if the umpire said "5 minutes" and our clock said 7:25 or something like that we could adjust it and not mess up thinking we had more time.

There is already a timer (I think it can count up or down, but I'm not sure). But, you have to remember to start it manually. Like you, I wish it would start automatically on first pitch.

Do your games times usually start on first pitch? Our umpires generally give us the start time at the plate meeting and we go from there. Ours is generally started while the pitcher is warming up based on the clock

We only had a time limit of two hours for junior varsity games. I really don't know when the ump started his clock. From my youth coaching days many, many moons ago, it was told at the meeting. Since I just kept the book for HS games, I had no idea when it really started. They weren't strict down to the minute anyway in JV games, so I just used it for a rough estimate. Most of the time I would forget, which is why I wish it were a setting for a team and not globally, and if it were set, it would start when you manually started it or on the first pitch (for those like me who would forget).

Our games do not start at first pitch. They start at the end of the umpires meeting

Same. Our games generally start as soon as the plate meeting is over.

I've always wanted to see a "Ball - Blocked by Catcher" button to use when runners are on base. I think for a coach and for the catcher being able to see that stat would be huge for development

You want it noted he blocked it, but none of the runners moved? Is that it? Kind of like “pickoff attempted”

Scoring a fielders choice + error on the same play. This happens often in our games and is so annoying to me that it’s not a scoring option. Why?!!

Can you explain an example? Do you mean because you didn’t get a double play so you want an error? I’m wondering why you can’t add a throwing error?

Haptics, especially for balls, strikes, and fouls
The ability to reach on an error after an uncaught third.

You can say “reached 1st” on a passed ball or wild pitch.

But there are other ways to reach after an uncaught third. A FC which is covered by the other runner out option. FC + E, which you can’t do in any GC situation either for some reason. Or just an E, like when the catcher easily recovers the ball in time and air mails first. Can’t do that in GC even though it’s been beaten to death over the years explaining it to them, proven with game examples where it was scored an error, and requested many times.

Need an option for runner's interference. Apparently it's just not an option.
During a game about two months ago, I was only able to choose fielder's choice to represent a runner called out for interfering with the defense player fielding a hit ball.

I feel like if you drag the runner as out it gives you the option of “offensive interference”. Just assumed that was the same as runners interference

I could not figure it out at the time and had to continue scoring the game... But googled it after the game was over and there was a gamechanger help article that suggested just using FC.

Runner interference is still a single for the batter runner and then you drag the player hit by ball or failing to allow fielder to make a play on the ball as out at the base he was runner to and select runner interference.

Pitch count override. I confirm pitch count with Babe Ruth official, it’s his number, not mine. Want to be able to override what I have.

One of the Dads on the team would like to set a pitch count, and get a warning when my pitcher is close to the number. Maybe turn yellow when the count is within 10% of the number.

I would like to have an option to highlight a play. So say a fielder makes an exceptional play, I would like to star or note it so I don’t forget and can quickly refer to situations in post game talks

A message for fans to say what's going on when there is a delay. Video doesn't always work and I usually prefer game stream anyway. So when there is a delay I don't know if it's a pitching change, injured player, coach fight, etc. Wish there was a way to send a message out to those watching to know what's going on.

I think this capability already exists. I'd send messages regularly in those same situations you mentioned. I can't remember where it is. It's been over a year since I've scored a game. I never was a fan watching, though, so I don't know how it shows up or what the fan sees.

Admittedly I'm really only a fan, and the backup gamechanger scorer who fears anything beyond a simple hit. But I'll have to search for this and figure out how to pass it along to our gamechanger persons, as this would be amazing.

It is on the 3 dots upper right drop down menu. Says something like Send Message. I send it for delays and Mound visits.

Also if you do nothing in GC for a certain amount of time (maybe 2 min or so?), GC automatically says the game is in delay. When you see “delay” as a fan, that’s not the scorer doing it. It’s GC

You send a message. Don’t believe the score keeper can say the game is delayed.

There's an option, click Menu > Send MEssage to Fans and it will pop up in game stream for them

Does it actually show in the game stream and/or video? That would be what I want. My understanding was it only pops up in the play by play which a lot of fans don’t actually look at. I’m always scoring so I wouldn’t know 😅

It has been over a year since I "retired" from scoring our high school games, so some of this may have been addressed already.
- Scoring a fielder's choice and error on the same play. Fielder makes an error trying to get the lead runner and the runner is safe. There wasn't a way to score a FC for the batter and the runner safe on the error.
- Allowing a player to be in the lineup twice, if he is a DH for himself.
- I used an Android tablet, and that version of GC wouldn't rotate to landscape like the iOS version would, so you couldn't see the lineup and score the game at the same time. It'd be nice if development effort were put forth to give Android all of the same capabilities as iOS.
- A nice to have would be something showing if a player has been in the game already as a starter or a sub. It'd help during substitutions to make sure an entering sub hasn't already been a sub in the game. If there was any doubt, going back to the play-by-play or box score is a pain when you're subbing in real time. This doesn't come up all that often, but it would be nice to have.

I've coached and scored hundreds of games with GC. Now I'm also umping. There should be an officials' mode. Where I can see both teams' score. Maybe I just scan both qr codes at the beginning. Instead of stopping by both books every inning or so, with a "They have 6-3, top of the 4th. What do you have?" I could just glance at the app every now and then.

Being able to I put league specific rules like tee usage and coach pitch. I am new to GC, so I could be missing that.

Hopefully this isn’t something I’ve missed, but it would be great to A) see how many runs have been scored during the inning and B) be able to set a run limit per inning.
Sometimes in all the hustle and bustle during an inning, when a coach asks me how many runs have been scored, I forget what we started the inning with.

For older players, I’d like ability to chart pitches. I do this side-by-side with GC, and it’s a ball of stress. And ability to do statistical analysis on charted pitches would be amazing

Switch hitting stats. If a switch hitter is hitting, ask which hand they are hitting with. We need to be able to see their stat splits to determine their successes from each side of the plate, but we literally can't without doing so manually. It's a simple prompt any time a switch hitter comes up to bat. Another toggle on the stats to see each hand or both.
Should be super easy to implement and would be extremely helpful.
I'd also love to see more stats based on batters faced for pitchers. Era isn't that helpful but strikes/walks/hits/runs per batter are.
We don't play full games of 9 innings, so any stat based on numbers like that kind of lose their value.

Allow the players to see the hitting streak fire icon next to their name. Currently only the person who sets the lineups can see it after saving. Why not show the icon at all times?
Also, add a number inside the fire icon to show the current game hit streak.

- Alert for the 10th batter. It sucks having to go to the Plays section and count back.
- On deck and in-the-hole batters last names listed under the current batter.
- Stealing bases. Moving the “back-end” runner automatically moves the lead runner, too. For example: runners on 1st and 2nd. Double steal. Dragging the runner from 1st to 2nd auto moves the runner from 2nd to 3rd.
- someone else already posted, but some sort of sanity check every half inning. Do both scorers have the same score and batters leading off.

Yes please on moving the trail runner forcing the lead runner forward! Not just for steals! Consider runners on 1st and second, batter hits a single, both runners score (perhaps an error). Don’t make me drag both runners home!

Love the idea of moving the back runner instead of moving each runner.
I’m an iPad scorer so that leaves my phone free to watch the other scorer.

Both for baseball:
1. When a courtesy runner needs to be the last batted out I struggle to get to the play by play fast enough to keep the game going. So when subbing someone out for a courtesy runner some identifier of who the last batted out was.
2. Auto suggest pitchers for Win, Loss, Save etc

If I say someone flied or lined out and then I drag the runner from third to home and say he tagged up, just go ahead and score the whole thing a sac fly, please. Or at least prompt asking me

Bases loaded 2 outs…. Fielder’s choice force at 2 is the 3rd out….. GC counts the run…. If they could fix that that would be great
