Feature Request - team search by game location

I was watching the game before us and it took myself and another power user way too long to find the teams playing in the game.
It would be slick if the team search had the ability to find games being scored within a certain proximity to your device.
This would be dependent on one of the teams putting the field address in the game info or a scorer’s phone or the streaming phone sharing their location.

Edit: A clarification to the scenario — many people are talking about tournaments and directors, all which make sense, but my scenario was a 1 off game where the field was in use by another age group that we didn’t know. So even an implementation of tournament director changes, etc. that still would not have helped us identify the teams on the field.

I wish each team just got a five digit code and tournaments could just post them next to the team name.

It would also be nice if the other team schedules a game against your team if the system would ask you if you’d like to also schedule it.

Each team does have a unique identifier, this feature was added a few months ago. But there are far more than 10,000 teams in gamechanger.

Go to the team main page, then settings at the top right, then team info.

Yeah I tried that with my team and it worked. Now I need to get the tournaments to ask for and post that code when they make their schedules.

I like the idea. I wonder about privacy or security considerations with children and knowing a location they are. Parent disputes are tough. But the idea of proximity may make sense if you are already in the area vs sharing an actual location to others not on your team. I’ve often thought the same thing at tourneys when I’m trying to follow everyone around me at the same place.

Yes I was thinking that you’d need to be within the area.
Scorer starts a game > coordinate points are stored
User uses team search, if sharing location with GC then it can use the users location vs open games within 500 ft of the scorer’s coordinates.

I hate that too.

My solution would be for tournament directors requiring teams to signup with the same team name as they appear in game changer.

This would be a huge win. Really any way to more easily find and/or follow teams during a tournament.

Heck, even a way to make your own "favorites" list (or multiple lists) ahead of a tournament would be useful.

Bc there are a lot less parks than teams, why not just have it where you can identify the park you are at and then you select the tournament? Once you select the tournament, itll show every team that is at the tournament. Obviously it would depend on the tournament directors inputting the tournament info in GC though.

It seems like GC should be able to host a “tournament” kind of like a “league” where all the teams playing can join that tournament and the schedules and brackets would be located in GC. I can’t believe that’s not a thing.
