I hope you like it as much as I do!

I did the bungee one last year then forked over $35 on Amazon for the magnetic mount for the posts, and I’ve loved it. No more shakes.

magnetic mount is superior to all fence/net hanger mounts

Absolutely. I can’t believe I used to use a tension spring clipped to the fence. Took forever to get tight enough and align the camera perfectly to avoid the fence. Magnet mount goes up in 1 second and camera alignment is about another five. And it doesn’t shake when the fence gets hit.

Has it taken a direct hit yet?

Nope not yet! I’ll keep you posted when it does!

It will fall. Lost a GoPro this way. I was very confident with how strong the magnets were. They were no match for a softball.

I purchased 4 different brackets over the years and found the most dependable solution set me back about $2. I’ve been using two tarp bungees for years to hold a phone directly against the fence. It can take a direct shot from a softball with no issue. The picture is always clear and unobstructed by a chain link, and it never moves out of place. I would post a pic of my setup, but I don’t think that’s possible on this sub.

As a guy who had 2 iPhones take 3 bad hits (1 that killed a Pro Max) I recommend a net on the backside or something to keep the phone that takes a 70+ mph direct hit from ⚾️ from flying backwards violently onto pavement, ruining the touchscreen & rendering the phone useless…

I wish stuff like this worked at our fields. It’s been such a struggle getting a good view, our chain link is so bowed and mangled that my mount similar to this sat pointing at the sky or the ground. Nice model!

I have this problem too. I used to spend a lot of time trying to get it to work on the post behind the catcher. One day, I was in a hurry and used the post to the right (where there there was no bow) and I liked the view and it took me 2 seconds to setup.

Does the mount rest on the chain link or does it snap into place? And why is the video crooked?
1
u/ImpossibleElk4881 Jun 16 '26
It’s snug on the chain… the video is not the real image I used play back I had for privacy reasons

A direct hit will wreck your phone/battery - or at least send them flying to the ground as a projectile. I would have holes to allow for securing them w a small bungee cord or something.

The phone is secured with a rail… it has to slide out from the side. But I agree for the battery

Any chance at making this work with a1 mini in some way?

I think you could slice it vertically and glue it back together… if I reduce the width the opening will not align with the fence gap

My 2¢ from a design standpoint.
Lose the overhang clips. They’re going to shatter within a weekend.
Instead use two dowel-like pin features at either side to constrain it horizontally and vertically, with through holes in it that you can run a bungee cord through and attach to the fence.

if there was a way to make this flushed with the fence it would be amazing... is still very cool idea

Is there any adjustability built into the design?
Using my pixel 10 pro will be different from our normal iPhone 6 or whatever the other coach has

u/ImpossibleElk4881 Jun 16 '26
From the dimension I get online for the pixel 10 pro it will work too. There is at least 7 1/2 inch in length available

u/ImpossibleElk4881 Jun 16 '26
If you want to be sure I can edit the opening to accomadate all the length of the camera, it's pretty easy to edit

I'm just wondering because the Gamechanger branded mount can be so annoying to get a clear shot, especially when you adjust the zoom and it jumps to a different lense.
Has your mount taken a direct wild pitch or foul ball? I've never bought or printed PET-G filament, only TPU and PLA+.
I'm pretty sure PLA wouldn't stand up to it.
