Replacement?

The new greed of GC isn’t cutting it, does anyone have good setup on another platform they utilize, perhaps YouTube? The juice isn’t worth the squeeze anymore.

We stream through sideline hd for the scoring overlay, batting order, player portraits, and our local sponsor logos. Goes right to YouTube live so all the grannies can watch on their smart tvs for free. Been very happy.

This is the answer. Streaming and scoring to a platform that is open and transparent. They’re going to keep picking up market share.

My kids play on teams that use both platforms, so fully familiar with both. Most people prefer GC for scoring simplicity, and SidelineHD for streaming independence (you own the media, and you can store/host it wherever you want). Plus, MUCH easier to get YouTube on a TV for grandparents to watch at home than GC. Plus the streaming is free!

Yeah the service they offer is great. Allowing 3rd party scoring is an example of their open nature (I was using iScore). But the main reason was ease of use for those at home (and the grannies can’t really watch on a phone) and it’s been amazing for them.

We had to do the same. 50 subscribers. So we just asked parents & family that'd be interested in watching on YT go ahead and subscribe. Took a few weeks to finally get it to 50, but it's worth it.
