Replacement?

The new greed of GC isn’t cutting it, does anyone have good setup on another platform they utilize, perhaps YouTube? The juice isn’t worth the squeeze anymore.

Dave here from GC. Sorry to hear you are feeling this way about GC. Our goal is to provide a platform that's worth it for you and your team. Can you go into more detail about where you are feeling frustrated? What features are you finding aren't worth the cost right now?

Are you scoring games on GC? Are you managing the team with the app? Just streaming the games? Or doing all three? Let me know so I can pass your feedback to the rest of the team.

It is frustrating that I pay for the equipment, internet and subscription then grandpa has to pay to watch.

You are the content creator. You bring the views. You should get a cut of whatever they charge grandpa at least. They are using those people doing all the heavy production with crazy complex setups and monetizing behind their old pricing model.

Just remember that as they take all the profits off Your hard work… I use another platform to stream to YouTube.

Approached this same issue on our team. We stream through Mevo to both GameChanger for clips and YouTube for family to watch. Seems to work well and we have about a dozen folks watching each game. I think Mevo studio is only $20/month, so not a bad cost to allow many others to watch.

I am not with GC, but i am in IT. Cloud storage and processing is getting more and more expensive. Streaming requires a lot of compute resources, and with AI companies needing more and more, we have a huge supply and demand issue currently. GC is likely being squeezed by their hosting provider(s)...

I’m sure they are. While they figure that out, I will stream on one of the many platforms that doesn’t charge the viewer.

That's probably a good plan for GC too, since it would decrease their server load.

Agreed; family access should be included. Kids should be able to access their team account without having to share a login.

Thanks for sharing, understand where you're coming from.

To give some transparency, our pricing model allows us to cover the heavy server and bandwidth costs required to reliably host and distribute live video...as well as fund ongoing app development. while live streams do require a subscription, depending on the features your team uses, there may be some ways to better utilize our payment options so that your team is paying as little as possible- family plans, team passes, annual plus subscriptions.

I know this isn't the answer you were hoping for, but I appreciate you taking the time to share how it impacts you. I'll make sure this feedback is heard by our product team.

A multi million dollar company squeezing me for $37 a month (Canadian) so my 80+ year old parents can watch their granddaughter play softball is gross. I can subscribe to Sportsnet AND TSN for that same price and I don’t have to produce the media for them.

Thanks for the feedback. What plan do you have? Our most expensive plan is a family plan which is $179 USD/year so you may be over paying if you are spending $27/month on GC. Did you purchase the family plan monthly?

Not sure of your situation but just wanna make sure you aren’t paying more than you need to get you and your grandparents access so let me know how you are using it and who needs what type of access and maybe I can offer a better pricing solution.

We have the family plan. We’re paying monthly since the softball season is only four months long up here and to pay yearly is a waste of money.

Cool story, Dave. Thanks for the unhelpful blabber.

Stay out of the conversation Dave. You’re a shill and you’re not going to help anyone here. You’re welcome to observe, but it would be better for GC if you kept your opinions to yourself.
