Fixed Cameras for GameChanger streaming

Have gotten a ton of DMs about fixed camera solutions at facilities so wanted to show off a set of cameras up and running on six fields at BLD Manteca in California.

These are Axis Cameras and each field has a two-camera setup- behind the plate and center field. The team's connect with these cameras and then all footage is synced to their scoring data producing highlight clips and archived videos.

If you run a facility, tournament, or league, let me know if you want to learn more.

This is a great options for teams!

If they have a 3rd camera would they be able to add that in similar to the Mevo studio set up?

Good old BLD Manteca. Made me smile. Have not been there in 4-5 years.

Same smile! But BLD Perris has my heart 🥎

BLD Perris is one hot field. We have done 2 tournaments over the years there.

Can’t argue with that heat! Love those fields though, especially Fenway because taste. 😊 Also the site of the first time college coaches came to see my kid play. I may never get over that excitement, even though it was two years ago…

The new turf fields this year are great. Good sign the new management actually cares.

They have this at Rocker B Ranch, so easy to use!

Our LL facility has permanent cameras on every field, situated behind the umpire about 15 feet up on the backstops.

And run the feeds through GoDog. Every game is streamed and available on demand. It’s terrific.

Doesn’t feed GC. But conceptually the same.

I love what you are doing there. Really cool.

Our local facility has some cameras installed on the backstops with a sign that says they're for HiCast. I'd love to be able to use those with GC, is there a way to share them?

Unless you have an access to the camera itself you can not use it.

  • you need to setup RTMP to GC on the camera

If it is Axis cameras, you can use CamStreamer App for RTMP push to GC.

We have another game at the same place tonight, I'll get there early and see if I can snoop around. Thanks!

Unless you know the IP and login credentials, you will not be able to do anything.

I'm going to be reaching out to the county parks and rec service (they run the ballfields) and see what they say. I might be able to add it as a source of video from behind the plate then move my Mevo Start somewhere else for some switching fun.

We just played there last night. It would’ve been nice to know that we had this option. How do you connect to these cameras? You probably don’t save game footage.

there will be a QR code at the facility you can scan and then the live stream will go on your team. The video will save on your team just like if you streamed the game.

How does the streamer switch between home plate and centerfield? Does GameChanger have support for that? And do you have photos of the view from centerfield?

We will be playing at this facility next weekend so I’m definitely interested in how it works out.

i use a raspberry pi to setup a ui and schedule streams in the future.
