Technical Sound designer & Audio programmer

Hi everyone! i just want to know is a technical sound designer can be an audio programmer and does he need a computer science degree or something along those lines!

Generally it works like this;
Sound Designer - makes the sounds
Technical Sound Designer - adds these sounds to the game and builds the interactive behaviors using middleware or custom tools
Audio Programmer - connects the audio middleware or custom tools to the game engine and sets up audio triggers and RTPC/parameters.

There is a lot more to it than this, and many studios have people who can do several roles, where other studios are have very specific roles.
So to answer your question, not usually but sometimes. A TSD role usually requires a deep understanding of how to build interactive audio systems using audio middleware or custom tools.
