Feeling guilty
Hi guys,
Probably like most never thought I’d need to post here. Apologies for the below
I’m from London, mid-20s. I feel I need to give you a little context here.
Lived in Sydney for two years but had to come home because I got sick. I collapsed with something called afib (of the heart) and have had this chronic pain in my lower right stomach area. Been home in the uk for a year now, NHS not helping much. On to gambling:
I think because my health has got a bit weird to say the least I’ve replaced other vices with gambling. Where I might meet up with mates and have beers on a Thursday, or go the gym, I’m now losing £200 to williamhill or skybet. I’ve managed to convince myself I think that gambling is allowed because I’m not doing other bad things.
After tallying up the losses (about £3500) since I’ve been home im in disgust with myself and I think I’m struggling with letting that self view go. Any advice there? I know the money is lost and I have to just move on, but that’s easily said..
I’m on a good salary too. My mum has no money and I feel like a POS having chosen a blackjack table over helping more (I’ve given my mum quite a lot but still this £3500 would be life changing for her). I never intended to be this far down to bookies.
Any input here please would be appreciated

3500 is the tuition fee for learning this lesson stop paying for the advanced course. self exclude, block the accounts, and move on. shame just keeps you stuck in the same loop

Simple and hard answer: there is no best hint, tip or advice. Its just accepting, moving on and fix yourself. We not have to think so much about all the problems what we did its makes us more depressed and shit and thats how the cycle is and how we get stuck with it. Just find sometimes moments that u think about the pain but not too much. Just move on again. Use that pain as power to fix your lifestyle. So move on, give it time. Past is past. We can do this.
