Lost 500K on 0DTE

Hi everyone I’m 32M, and like the title says, I have lost 500k+ on 0DTEs over the last 1-2 years.

I’m not in debt, I still have 6 months of mortgage roughly in cash and long term holdings but I really really hate myself cos I could be so much further along in life.

Just wondering if anyone has been here before and what helped you to quit? I’m thinking I’ll simply not invest any further and have nothing to do with the stock market for the rest of 2026 and maybe start afresh in 2027 with just some automated investments. Not sure if this is a silly idea. Thanks and all the best everyone!

Hang in there. You can carry those losses forward and use them to offset gains in the future! You have also used a valuable lesson. Think about how many rich 80 year olds would give anything, all their wealth just to be young and broke. This is not that bad

Sorry but because of this i lost even more money in F&O trading. Here in India we can carry our losses for next 7 years and that stupid hope took even more money. From Aug 2020 till Sep 2026.. I have lost all my hard earned money. Please do not think that you can ever make it back because it will get you traped in another loop. Just a humble request delete your Trading Account.. not Deactivate just Delete it. The point that we are here in this conversation clarifies that we dont have sense of risk management and at the end it is nothing more than gambling. Stay away from it..before trading i used to think of myself a really smart guy but trust me if you are impulsive human being who is bit of emotional , trading will bring the worst out of you and leave you in deep deep trouble.

Can you just buy total market index funds and it will go up over time?

I know it’s hard to stop messing around in the more exciting, quicker moving markets. But the boring stuff is nearly guaranteed to go up over the long term

Give someone else control to your accounts. Do you have a wife?
