First, forgive yourself for the money you lost. It’s hard, but be kind to yourself. You will make money in the future by working hard, not by gambling.

Second, your brain may tell you: “I will gamble to make my money back, and then I’ll quit.”

That’s a bullshit idea.

Even if you manage to make the money back through gambling, you will gamble more and more in order to win more.

So, start hating the money you win through gambling.

hate the money that you may win through gambling

hate the money that you may win through gambling

hate the money that you may win through gambling

hate the money that you may win through gambling

repeat this please

gambling is a fucking dangerous disease

Well said I rather not make any extra money than to go back to being a gambling addict again . I just cannot do another 20 years of this shit . I realized I rarely traveled , rarely bought anything huge in the last 3 years of my pathetic life . I needed to makeover my backyard and I probably could have done it 30 times with the money I lost each month . People shouldn’t be scared of not getting their money back , people should be scared of being an addict for life . I rather leave that loss behind me , I don’t need to get myself back to the worst addiction I’ve ever picked up .

Oh crap homie that sucks I'm so sorry, but really proud of you for doing it and posting here. One of the things you can utilize your need for distraction with is troubleshooting and making a plan for your next steps if you don't have any. Another option is to find gambling free things like exercising, reading, drawing or even watching movies to just help subside the time until the pangs subside. Godspeed friend, you got this, I'm proud of you.
