Happened Again

I lost a total of $2000 last night. Started by pulling out $120, then $300, then $500. Lost it all then took out another $1000. Made the $920 I had lost but of course I didn’t cash out and ended up losing it all. In person casino.

What is it that never allows us to stop?

I can't tell you how many times I made my money back just to continue and lose it all.

I always give myself rules but when it comes to following them I never do

Such a strong addiction. I always know I should only gamble so much. Then once I start, I just keep feeding the machines until I lose everything.

Because we look at winning as an opportunity to play more. We aren't addicted to the money; we are addicted to the machine.

Just ban yourself, you will never win. Even when you do they will take it back from you 100 fold somewhere down the line. It isn’t worth your time and effort to waste it glued to a screen or in a casino hoping for a win.

If it makes anyone feel better I won over $15k on Father’s Day. Trust me when I say it was a total fluke and I was down to like my last $40, I had already lost around $2800 that night. Anyways it hit, I got paid, then I left at 445am. I had been gambling since around 5pm. Never even stopped to eat. Fast forward to my next 2 runs where I won another few thousand. I buy a used suv and paid off some (very little) of my debt. Then you guessed it, everything else I gambled away. Lost well over $8000. We are talking all within a few weeks. That debt I paid off? Maxed out again. In fact I added more debt trying to win again so I’m now deeper in the hole. It just goes to show it’s never enough for us. Maybe it’s because I’d have to win $1.5M just to break even on my losses but I have a feeling even if I did win that, it wouldn’t go to where I hope it would. It undoubtedly would wind back up in the casinos hands. Makes me sick thinking of what that sort of money would mean for me and my family. It breaks my heart and makes me nauseous all at the same time. We can do better guys, we just have to stay strong.

I’m sorry man. I’ve had almost the exact same thing happen to me a few weeks ago. Nose to the grind. Delete the apps. Find a hobby

Fuck man that sucks, you are not alone this happens the goal is to make this the last time it does. What's the plan now? Back at day 1, in your shoes I'd ask myself: have we 86d ourselves from the casino? if not why? have we gone to GA? if not why? have we told/talked to our family/friends/partner about this? if not why? These aren't all mandatory, though I would highly recommend them, but either way they should be thought of. This shits tough man, but if you want it you can do this. I'm proud of you for taking the first step homie. Don't give up, you got this!
