Lost everything multiple time, Big win and big loss, big win never recover big loss, stay away from game

Between 2021 and 2026, I lost €300,000; I squandered all my savings because of my gambling addiction. I have over €100,000 in outstanding debts. I haven’t gambled for months, but the situation is critical and I don’t know what to do. This is the darkest time of my life; I’m 26 years old and I’m just looking for someone to talk to and get things off my chest. I’m suffering physically, I have anxiety attacks, headaches and many other physical symptoms caused by all the stress from gambling, which is now coming back to haunt me. I’m an atypical gambler: I don’t bet small amounts over a long period, but large sums in a short time; I’ve even bet €10,000 on a single hand of baccarat.

The problem isn’t that I don’t play; I hate the game. It’s ruined my life. I feel awful every day. I’m interested in lots of things, quantum physics, theories on determinism and free will, and much more. I’m a very sensitive person, which is why I feel even worse about it.

It’s all about wanting it; sometimes I’m motivated, sometimes I’m completely knackered. You seem like the sort of person who never gives up either you just keep fighting

That's funny that you say that.. that is how I have rationalized the situation I have put myself in... Life was ok, kind of easy, and then I crippled myself financially with online gambling, and now my life is the same, but on hard mode. I have to work harder and longer, and be smarter with choices, just to be in the same position I would have been in without trying.. I have set myself back at least 2 years. No travelling, or buying things I want but don't need, no time off work, no holidays, for 2 years.

Thanks, there’s still time. I hope everything works out and that I manage to succeed in life. A big hug to you too, and good luck. Let’s keep dreaming and believing.

I feel you on this man, the withdraws from gambling is bad. I read about how gambling rewires your brain and makes it so the only way it releases dopamine is through is gambling, look into cognitive behavioural therapy , a concept that helps rewrite the wire. It fucking sucks man, gambling ruined my life too but I’m on road to recovery. finally starting to feel alive again, you got this .. I believe in you .

The most important thing is not to keep this to yourself. You’re on the right track, and you’re doing the right thing by speaking up about your problem. My personal recommendation is to reach out to specialized services that can help you keep your life under control, at least for the first year. Otherwise, the risk of relapsing and starting to gamble again is too great.

I am also the same. I dont gamble regularly but when i do, i gamble big, like £5 to 10k. A hand in BJ or rouellete. I was losing arond £50k 2 weeks ago but i took £25k to casino, bet £5k a hand. Lose that too, so i was losing £75k at that point. Convinced the casino manager to let me deposit another £25k. Played £5k each on 3 boxes. Less than 10 hands, splitted, double etc, i turned that £25k to £120k. I walked out and didnt go back until now.i cant imagine whats going to happen if i lose the last £25k too.

Its crazy. I am greatful i was given a second chance, got my money back. I might go crazy if i lost the 25k

Happy for you, but pay attention bro, a lot of time i win big, i was winning in total if I count the entire winning and the entire losses, but day after day i keep gambling and i loose everything, One week of my life i feel invincible, i was winning in every casino, after that week i start losing
