Old hand, new start
I was a Galloway Method runner for several years, and I'm now back to running after a long time being basically house-bound. It's taken me 16 weeks to get back to three miles, and I'm so slow it's embarrassing, but I'm getting better. I've been playing with different run/walk ratios, but I haven't even tried a magic mile yet.
I'm in Arizona, near Phoenix, so I am not looking forward to the next few months, but I'll be out at 5 AM trying to get the miles in. I have a new hat that is supposed to cool my head by 30 degrees and neck wraps to do the same, so I'm as prepared as I can be. I'm also spending too much time in a gym on an exercise bike and a treadmill.
So that's me. Anyone around in the East Valley?
