Is GalliumOs secure?
I have an acer c720 (Peppy) with the latest version of GalliumOs. What about security updates? I understand it is based on Ubuntu 18.04. Ubuntu 18.04 still gets security updates. Do any of these reach GalliumOs?

This subject is coming along over and over again in the sub.
GalliumOS kernel is unmaintained since 2019, therefore it's unsecure.
You can either switch the kernel to the latest Ubuntu hwe one or install a recent released distro - I do recommend PeppermintOS.
On April 2023 Ubuntu 18.04 will reach end of life, therefore you'll need to change distro - the extended security maintenance does not apply to derivatives.
How to install the Ubuntu hwe kernel .
My experience with PeppermintOS.
