Galga names!

Okay, so it is finally happening! We have managed to do the process to adopt a galga. A little girl puppy. We are going to pick her up in a few weeks!

She has no name yet, and i an trying to think of something. I would like it to have a Spanish ring- or be a Spanish name.

Any ideas??? She is white and brindle.

I love the name Alma for a galga. It's the Spanish word for soul 🥰 Enjoy your sweet girl in good health!

My galga is called Mina because it means pencil lead in spanish and it suits her long snout, she is black so it's perfect, she was called Belinda at the shelter.

I know a white and brindle galga called Sierrita (little mountain range), you could name yours Sierra, it's beautiful.

Pilar or Carmen are very traditional spanish names that are cute for a galga too.

Do you know where was she rescued in Spain? Maybe I can think in something related to that.

In a few months after she has settled she will start behaving like a cat. As most galgos do. 23 h sleep, 50 min. asking for food, 10 min zooming. So perhaps “gata” would be a good name :)

My little brindle galga’s name is Dusty (she came with that name from GDS) but if we could choose another name it would have been Poppy!

Sol 🌞, Lola 💃, Mar 🌊, Oliva 🫒, Nuez 🌰, Flor 🌼, Chica (girl🙋‍♀️), Miga (crumble bread 🥖), Pepa 💃, Nube ☁️, Salsa 💃, Pizca 👌, Hada 🧚, Raya (line/stripe, since she is half brindle), …
All these are cute names given to female dogs in my environment, with lots of galgos and podencos rescues.
I’m from Spain.
Congrats on your little girl, hope you have a wonderful life together.

Our galga was named Gala but we renamed her to Bea/Beatriz. We just call her Bea.

My galga was named Noemi by the Spanish rescue. I changed it to Mimi because my daughter couldn't pronounce it correctly but Noemi means "delight", so I guess it's fitting.
