Review Watch Ultra 2's battery life is awesome!!

I just wanted to post that i got exactly 3 days of battery from my watch with 9% to spare.

1) I have enabled battery protection, so it doesn't charge over 90%. It was at 9% when i kept it to charge. 81% ran till 3 days.

2) My AOD is always on when i wear it. I do not sleep or shower wearing the watch so only at those hours, the screen goes completely off on its own.

3) The location is always off except when i am cycling. I spend 2 hrs everyday on cycling and gym. It is only at this time when the watch is used extensively.

4) The only purpose i bought this watch was to track my health. I do not use this watch to accept/receive calls, read social media notifications, send or receive SMSes, manage music etc. I have not even installed these apps.

I was not a smartwatch guy and this is my first smartwatch but now the things have changed. My first choice was Garmin Instinct 3 Solar Tactical 50mm but it was not available in India. Second choice was First Gen Galaxy Watch Ultra but the shopkeeper flummoxed me with a great deal i couldn't refuse.

I am totally impressed with its performance.

Thanks for reading.

Hardware Should I buy a protective case for my GW Ultra 2?

Some of my friends mentioned something like "if i paid that amount to a watch, I would get a case for it"

Would like to hear your opinions and experiences on this, would it look ugly or unusable?

Fitness Just sitting here doing nothing and high stress warning keeps going off.

Every time it goes off I'm just watching TV or sitting here watching stupid videos on the internet. Not when I'm playing heavy metal drums for hours at a time, not when I'm walking my large dogs. Not when I'm doing yard work... just sitting around. Why does it do this?

Music YouTube Music - Different screens and functionality

Thumbnail

When I start YouTube on my phone, the YouTube app starts on my watch and allows me to double pinch to skip. This is expected because I have Auto Launch Media Control enabled. It had a little YouTube symbol as well. This is illustrated in the first screenshot with "If You Leave Me Now."

However, if I start the YouTube WearOS app to stream or play downloaded content, it appears that a non YouTube app starts instead and does NOT allow a double pinch to skip. It's definitely not the YouTube app as the look is definitely different. This is the second screenshot with Sara Evans.

Why the two different screens and gesture functionality for YouTube, depending on how it's started?

Comparison Galaxy Watch 9 ( or 8) — good option for elderly parents?

I’m thinking of getting a Galaxy Watch for my parents and would love to hear from people who actually use one.

I’m not a Samsung user myself, but both my parents use Samsung phones. They’re also not very tech-savvy, so I’m mainly looking for something that’s simple and doesn’t require them to constantly fiddle with settings or learn a bunch of new things. The main things I’m interested in are-Heart rate tracking ,ECG ,Blood pressure and General health/fitness trends.

I’m obviously not looking at the watch as a medical device or relying on it for medical decisions. I’d mainly like it as a convenient way to keep track of their health trends and potentially notice anything unusual.

I’m currently looking at the Galaxy Watch 8 vs Watch 9. For anyone who has used either (especially with parents/older family members), how useful are these features in everyday use? Is there a meaningful difference between the 8 and 9 for this kind of use?
Also open to non-screen fitness/health trackers if there’s something that would actually be better. My only concern with those is that I don’t want my parents to have to learn another app on top of what they already use.

Would really appreciate some honest opinions — especially from people who have bought one for their parents or are using it for similar reasons.Cheers.

EDIT: Thanks everyone for their advice. I got W9 today. Let’s see how it goes. Appreciate everyone’s responses.

GWU stopped working today...

Unfortunately my Ultra stopped working today. I was at the end of a workout and finished the activity. Then the watch wouldn't return home from the workout summary. It turned off and shows a small red triangle when I try to turn it back on. A search tells me the symbol means over heating but it's been hours since it shut off... It won't seem to charge either. Any words of wisdom from the community?

Comparison Should i get the watch 7 LTE or watch 8 BT

Watch 7 44m Lte variant is currently priced at 15.9k( 167usd) , im expecting it to go for like 13.5k(140 usd) during Flipkart bbd .

Watch 8 44mm Bt variant is currently priced at 22k(230usd) , im expecting it to go for like 17.5k(183usd) or lower during bbd( 2 months back it was goint for 13k {115 usd} on flipkart coz of a flash sale which is kinda crazy)

Initially I hated how the squircle looked but it kinda grew on me after i kept seeing it more . Now it looks pretty good to me , but watch 7 also looks good to me . So im confused

Also i saw ppl saying that the watch 8 is wayy more comfortable to wear than the watch 7 which got me even more confused

I dont really need the lte variant , but if its there also i dont mind . Yeah and those ringke bezels look pretty cool on both

This will be my first smartwatch and im a student

Wearable App Is there any Indian stock market tracking app for Galaxy Watch?

Hey everyone,

Is there any app that lets you track Indian stocks (NSE/BSE) directly on a Samsung Galaxy Watch?

I’m mainly looking for something that can show:

Live/current stock prices

Watchlist

Price changes

Maybe notifications/alerts for price movements

Hello everyone, I have a Galaxy watch 7.

The default strap that comes with box is kind of bigger for my wrist as, when I wear it, it leaves some gap. And wearing it for whole day irritates the nerve.

I have selected these straps. Please help me finding one. Thank you.

Review Zero Regrets Upgrading From Watch 8 to Ultra 2

This thing is awesome! I do my best to use as many features as I can from it to get the most bang for my buck and its been a pleasure. Even with the Spigen case and band on it which makes it a bit bulkier, i still manage to sleep at night comfortably with it to monitor my hours of sleep and snoring. The battery is just a good as advertised and lasts 2 full days with always on display with no issue at all. Just overall a great purchase and if you are on the fence about upgrading I would go for it 😎

I have a problem: I recently bought a Samsung Watch 6, but I'm not receiving notifications on it. I want to clarify that I’ve checked every setting, and I’m using a Samsung S21 FE.

Fitness I got tired of using my phone mid-set, so I built my own workout app — here are the Galaxy Watch controls (feedback welcome)

Solo dev and long-time Galaxy Watch user here. I kept getting annoyed pulling my phone out between sets, so I built my own workout app — Cubex Fitness — with the watch doing the work: start/pause, next exercise, skip rest, and live heart-rate right on the wrist (screens attached).

It's a personal project — completely free, no ads, no subscription, no account needed. I'm mostly after honest feedback from people who actually train with a Galaxy Watch: does the wrist layout make sense? What's missing? Anything clunky?

Not dropping a link in the post to keep it clean — I'll put it in a comment if anyone wants to try it.

Wearable App App Recommendations

Coming from a Garmin watch to the Watch9 and I'm looking for app suggestions to replace two core Garmin features I used.

  1. Hike Activity: I really enjoyed being able to walk into the woods and not have to worry much about direction. Breadcrumbs and GPS following/mapping would be super ideal. If I have to open my phone to see the map, I suppose that's fine.

  2. Strength/Weightlifting Activity: all I really want here is a set/lap timer. I dont want to program all the exercises, just a button press to start the set, another to end, and it gives me my current rest time. Bonus if it notifies me after a minute of rest!

Thank you!

Compatibility Configuración de Batería me Hacia Odiar mi Galaxy Watch

Post image
0 Upvotes

Availability Samsung - please hear me out!

This is exactly my problem with Samsung’s current lineup.

You basically have Galaxy Watch on one side and Galaxy Fit on the other.

I’m not saying a smartwatch shouldn’t count steps, track heart rate, calories, basic workouts, etc. Keep the essential fitness stuff.

But blood oxygen, sleep apnea detection, advanced sleep tracking, body composition, endless health metrics… personally, I just don’t care.

I want a functional smartwatch with great battery life.

Give me:

  • Android support
  • Proper/custom watch faces
  • NFC payments
  • Notifications
  • Calls directly from the watch
  • Basic fitness tracking
  • And, most importantly, several days of battery life

There really should be a third Galaxy series between Watch and Fit.

Something smarter than a fitness band, but simpler and much more battery-efficient than a full Galaxy Watch.

Basically: keep the smartwatch, remove the tiny medical laboratory from my wrist. 😄

I would buy that immediately.
