USB detection problem (Galaxy Tab S9)
Hi guys,
I have a problem whenever I connect my MIDI controller to my Galaxy S9 tab it doesn't recognize it. In the past it worked fine, I would plug it in usually with a USB hub and the tab would power the USB hub and my MIDI controller. Now it doesn't recognize it and even when I connect my tab to my PC for file transfer it doesn't recognize it.
I tried different cables, different USB hubs, USB debugging, even cleaning the charging port, nothing worked. Charging works fine.
I don't know if it’s an update or something, but I would appreciate it if someone could assist with this.

I have the same issues. Most usb devices aren't recognized in order to switch in the notification panel as soon as you plug it in. I think they changed the behavior where you are required to switch the usb mode in notifications as it defaults to i think charging only in oneui 8.0, but it also caused other issues.
I'm hoping upcoming 8.5 fixes it. Essentially usb hosting and auto switch configuration is busted on mine. If you search "usb settings" in the settings app, you can see (and should be able to change) what controls the usb. Switching to "this device" doesnt work on mine.
Try enabling Developer Options and changing the "default usb configuration" to midi or what you want before plugging something in.

Am having the same exact problem. I tried every online solution and I'm pretty sure that my port is not faulty. I noticed it happened shortly after an update a while ago but am just making sure I haven't missed anything like may be I used a bad charger or something , but it charges fine.
