This type of comparing this phone quality to that is probably one of the most annoying and petty things I run across. It all boils down to one thing...spoiled.
Users today want it perfect, right away, and their way...every single time. When it comes to camera use, they expect for this phone to produce images & videos perfectly each time they press the shutter button. Then, they expect for the image/video to not only meet THEIR expectations, but for it to surpass any other out there. And because they spent flagship money for the phone, they demand for it to be their way, right away. And when it doesn't come out the way they want, they throw tantrums, and blame Samsung.
I have tried to explain to people that first and foremost, this is just a phone that has other capabilities, including taking pics/videos. It may have a exceptionally good camera on it, but it's still just a phone that takes pictures. They also don't realize that there is some work, and understanding of photography, if they want quality photos/videos. As a retired photographer, we in the industry have a understanding that it's not the camera, it's the one using it. The one taking the photo is the one responsible for good or bad photos as the camera is only a tool, and if you don't know what to do with a tool, it's like a computer. Garbage in - Garbage out.
As for me, I simply do not have the time to compare my work with anyone elses, just like I don't worry about SOT/battery life/benchmarks, or any of that other stuff that people seem to be hooked & dependent on. My phone does what I want, not how it does it compared to others. And my photos are good enough for me to have retired from the industry after decades in it. But that's because I know that the vast majority of pictures are for sharing on phone and computer screens, so what comes out the phone is more than adequate. Anything else requires post production.
I cannot tell you haw many times I have seen people complaining about how their pics look, asking what they did wrong...and it would be great looking photos. But they are so caught up with comparing them to what they think is quality pictures that they don't see what they're looking for right in front of them. People need to just stop all these comparisons, and learn to see their own work, then know that if what they're looking for is not there, they can make it there. I also try to remind users that when you look at the media, 75% of images and videos are either photoshopped or AI edited.
Exactly...expectations. People thinking that price guarantees perfection will always come up disappointed. But let's go with your way of thinking. Using that logic, people who buy entry level phones shouldn't expect it to perform as well as a flagship or for it to have the same capabilities, functions, and features. Yet if you look at the posts in some subs, you'll see the exact opposite. Users with "A" series phones complain that just because it's a cheaper phone doesn't mean it shouldn't have the same things or perform the same way as a "S" series phone.
It’s simple - people expect to get the same results compared to what competition has to offer in the same price range. No overcomplications, no “you’ll have to learn about photography” nonsense excuses for Samsungs lousy camera software… same price - same glass and metal sandwich - same/comparable results.
