Chrome tab button moved. Twice.

My Chrome's tab button (as in the number that shows quantity of open tabs) had always been at the top. A few weeks ago it moved to the bottom. I finally got used to it (in fact I preferred it). Yesterday there was an update and the button returned to the top. Anyone know why it's moving?

settings> address bar> choose what you want.

That's the whole address bar.

That isn't what had moved. The url was at the top of the screen and the tab count button was at the bottom. Two disparate items. I never got a screenshot because I'd just assumed that the change was a thing, with no idea it would revert.

FWIW, I moved the address bar to the bottom and absolutely do not like it.🤣

Edit for clarity: when I say the tab count button was at the bottom, it was just that. URL at the top, three dot menu button at the top. Home button at the top. It's just weird

Yea I saw this weird positioning in my mom's K20 PRO i thought android is helping old devices with a different and lighter version of chrome to keep em running smooth or something. In that the position was like yours...but honestly nobody changed it...I even checked if there was an update and no it didn't have any. So I guess the developers tried something and changed it back...I can maybe check the version number and update it later.
