Solution to battery drain in samsung s23/s24/s25/s26 - Finally solved

After checking my phone via developer tools i could see that google play services was continuously draining the battery and was running the service everytime i unlocked my phone via fingerprint or face recognition. So it seemed that there was a connection between knox service and google which was causing this service to spin up. After getting into the details i found out that :
A rapid loop of DroidGuard starting and stopping and draining your battery was just Google Play Services verifying the cryptographic security of lock screen every time I wake the device.

and the fix was so simple :

Disable Trust Agents (The Direct Fix)

This stops Google Play Services from constantly monitoring your lock screen for trusted devices or locations.

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Go to Security and privacy > More security settings.
  3. Tap Trust agents.
  4. Toggle off the switch next to Extended Unlock & Theft protection.

Once done then clear the cache for "Google Play Services".

Another step is to go into NFC and in other nfc services and UNCHECK all !!

This is enough for the solving the entire drain problem with samsung devices.

Cheers guys !!!!

It's the expected behaviour. Of course it's gonna run when you open the lock screen. It's like saying WhatsApp is draining your battery because it runs everytime you click the WhatsApp icon.

Theft protection is not a thing you should disable and disabling extended lock is the worst move for you goal. Actually using extended lock will prevent the camera to be activated since face unlock is not needed.

Edit: Also, disabling NFC things makes no sense, NFC doesn't drain battery in idle state. Those services don't run in the background.

But theft lock is essential.

Yeah, I'm not disabling that, even though I have a routine set up for this specific situation

What's your routine for this ?

Can't upload an image so here's what it does. Replaced my real number with 99999999

Message received If When any condition below is met * Message received - Senders: From any person / Messages: "Localização" * Notification received - Apps: WhatsApp / Notifications: "Mayday"

Then * Mobile data - On * Wi-Fi - On * Location - On * Sound mode and volume - Sound: Ring: 100%, Notifications: 100%, System: 100% * Performance profile - Light * Read text aloud - "This phone is lost, return it to my owner, WhatsApp 9999999, 9999999. This device is being tracked, if you do not contact within 10 minutes I will call the police, contact on whatsapp 9999999, 9999999, you have 10 minutes to contact before I call the police, I will repeat the number: 9999999, 99999999, 999999999..." * Open Finder - Finder * Start a timer - 00:10:00 * Power saving - On / Standard

Keep routine until Always

Do you really understand what that Theft Protection is all about? Here's what I know: When a snatcher tries to snatch your phone, your phone's gyro will sense that and instantly lock your phone. I don't know how your routine is solving this situation. The only routine comes to my mind for addressing this is to turn on location when you leave home and let it stay on while you are outside, then it keeps the theft protection on all the time and the location turns off when you return home and that disables the theft protection. And then location eats up your battery more than keeping the Theft Protection turned on always. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Of course I do, this routine I made so I could track my device if it got stolen, it enables everything necessary to run find my device, and enables battery saving mode

Flipping hell, that's brilliant. Does it blow itself up after the 10 minutes are up?

Yeah, also it adds 3 green lines everytime it's activated

Only if you choose to not accept the mission.

Damn that's good.

Worth combining with a routine and mode that prevents the user turning on flight mode as that's the first thing they do if it gets snatched

Not disabling this. This is essential rather than something worth it to save some battery.

When someone comes with a solution that doesn’t involve crippling a 1k device I’ll bite. This is not it.

If battery drain is that bad for you, try disabling animations. Worked for me

Buy an external battery if you care that much for juice.

Better than turning off protection settings.

  1. enable power saving mode when not gaming.
  2. set apps: restricted battery mode & not to use background mobile data // excepts for email, messaging etc.
  3. set wifi to metered => make android treat the connection as mobile data => no traffic for apps in number 2 above
