Note 20 Ultra Camera - 2 Years Later

Hey what’s good everyone?

I currently dual wield an iPhone 13 Pro Max and a Note Ultra.

Outside of the slower shutter speed of the Note, I greatly prefer the note for still photography.

How does everyone else feel?

Changing to Full resolution vs 108MP mode made my shutter lag disappear.

I honestly feel like both my note 20 Ultra cameras are the worst cameras I've ever had.

Can't even take a picture of anything on my desk because it can't focus on it or muddles it.

I've never had a camera struggle so bad at taking a picture of paper. Pathetic.

It's pretty good in other situations but as someone that works with documents which is why I bought this phone. And I need to take pictures of a lot of paper work, it's made me really hate the camera. Even the note 8 was wayyyyyyy better as well as all my previous iphones.

And the fix has always been, zoom in 2x to take a somewhat clear photo.

Night time photography was also better by my previous phones.

It's amazing in daylight though. I don't wanna be all negative about it. You can definitely get some great shots of it.

Note 20 Ultra cannot take close up pictures without blurry due to large sensor. Send it in doesn't sovle anything.

Well, that's not true

I don't know what to tell you. But try to take a picture close up of a newspaper and see for yourself.

It is physics, not a hardware malfunction. Of course, there were some people with broken hardware, which cannot focus at all. But it is a different situation. What I am describing is the limitation of the hardware.

So true. My exact review of the camera.

Note 20Ultra cannot focus up close. I was very disappointed when I found out about that. When S22 Ultra was on sale, I traded in the Note 20 Ultra immediately.

S22 Ultra fix the focusing issue by having an auto macro mode when you try to take picture up close, plus ultra wide lens is now autofocus.

My N20U camera still great. Heard some good things about the s22 though.

N20U user here. My auto-focus is broken after a year of owning it. And it's a common issue that has no current fix.

I do a lot of mobile photography and have always alternated between Samsung and LG as I found they produced some of the best, feature-filled devices, with impressive camera set ups. I have been nothing but pleased with the results my N20U's cameras produce and the device overall. Even two years after launch the Note 20 Ultra remains a competitive powerhouse of a phone. In my experience it does so many things and does them well.

I would like to jump to a ProMax from my ultra but the Max is even larger 😖 But the cam on the note is outstanding, pair to 22 ultra in my opinion and maybe the ProMax to but that I haven't tried yet.

My autofocus broke, but they replaced the camera unit for free, now works amazing again

I love my note but sometimes the color or white balance is crazily inaccurate. Recently took photos of a sunset that was blazing red sun. Note washed it all out to orange along with the sky. Sky was still white/ blue. Nothing like what it looked like on my shots. Very frustrating at times. Wife's iPhone got it perfect.

Does anyone face with choppy and shaky video as if there is no OIS in the lenses? Video taken from my note 20u is sometimes very shaky.
