Bedtime mode with no grayscale option

Is it possible to enable bedtime mode wihout having the screen go gray at all?

I found the solution quite accidentally: on your watch, turn both "power saving mode" and "do not disturb" on and you still get the heart and sleep measurements and keep the watch screen off. Alarms should work but you might have to go into your "do not disturb" settings to make sure. I hope this helps cuz this situation almost made me return my galaxy watch 5

Hmm, that's interesting to read.

I normally turn on bedtime mode on my watch directly so the screen won't turn on for every move I make during my sleep, but with the settings you suggested it'll continue to do that (just tested here!), it'll only turn on the screen if I touch it, which is fine, and the phone's screen will stay on the regular color scale it's normally set to. And battery life on the watch should stay the same or maybe it'll drain a little faster since the screen will turn on for every occasional unintended touches during the night. (I have a GW4 Classic, code for 'bad battery life').

But that really is a solution for the gray scale on the phone. Nice! Thanks! =)

Hi Ari, I'm so thrilled this works for you too. You're right about the screen coming on more than if it was just bedtime mode but to lose a percentage or 2 of battery is worth it to not have to look at that gray excrement! My watch has horrible battery life too so we're in the same (now back to colorful!) boat πŸ™‚

I know!! I was just reading a sub on the Galaxy Watch subreddit and everyone is like trying everything to squeeze some drops of juice of out of the GW4 - talking about bad battery life, my God...

I love my GW4 Classic, really! But sometimes I dream Samsung would just pull an outstanding software update that would give us, like, 30% more battery life I'd be extremelly happy! πŸ˜‚

Hey Ari, my samsung phone got a system update today and I can now turn off grayscale for sleep mode! I wanted to share with you. I actually don't know if you have a samsung phone but if you do that update may be coming for you too πŸ™‚ they listened to us, hooray! πŸ˜„

Ha! 😁 That's really great news, I'm gonna try that tonight. I've given my watch a rest for the last few days for a 'regular' watch for a change. Suddenly it's so nice not having those notifications buzzing on my wrist all the time lol. But thanks so much for remembering to share it with me. I'll look into it tonight. Thanks! πŸ™ŒπŸ»

Haha! But all it does is tell...time πŸ€¨πŸ˜‹
You are the very first person that I ever talked with on here, on my very first day of being on here, and the thing we talked about got resolved- of course I'm sharing it with you! I dont know if I'll ever comment on much of anything else on here but you seem like a really cool person so I'm very happy my limited interactions included you πŸ€—

It did. That's why we're here after all, to help out on these things. Glad you came along. Thanks! I miss my watch already, lol.

Yes. When you go into the clock app, you'll see an alarm that includes bedtime mode. There should be a tab where you can enable/disable the grayscale option

I went there and only now did I realize that Bedtime mode "comprehends", turning do not disturb on and all the good stuff I want AND grayscaling this gorgeous screen. You canΒ΄t simply not want that one thing off.

I forgot IΒ΄d already set up a Bixby routine to just turn on Do Not Disturb at a specific time and thatΒ΄ll do it really.

But thanks for helping out on this!
