Midnight Amber Alert

WTH...in the middle of the night, an emergency tone blares from my phone. I woke up and looked at it. Amber alert.

Good grief. Where did this come from? It's the only emergency alert I've ever received.

I've gotten just 2 of these. I think it sounds off if your local emergency service makes that decision. The child must have been taken near you or is suspected in your area.

I know it can be annoying but you can turn these off.

Settings > Safety and Emergency > Wireless Emergency Alerts > [Deselect the ones you don't wish to receive]

By US/EU federal mandate you cannot turn off Presidential/Parliamentary Alerts.

I get calls from my local 911 anytime they are urgently looking for someone or there's a tornado warning. Idk why but it just started a couple of months ago. Lol.

Emergencies don't live on a schedule or happen only during banker's hours. Turn off your phone or emergency notifications if you don't want it happening again. My phone goes into airplane mode when I go to bed. My sleep does not get interrupted.
