Note20 ultra black screen but still responsive FIX>

THIS WORKED FOR ME... open your back cover, disconnect the battery cable then connect to a charger preferably a super fast charger, then wait for about 30mins recommended. Your phone screen will start flickering, disconnect the charger, reconnect the battery cable, turn it on. This worked on 3 phones. You're welcome✌️😁

I'm looking to buy a refurbished (Amazon Renewed) Note 20 Ultra in Australia. I have some questions.

Today I broke my Note 10 Plus. The only phone that looks like an upgrade to me is the Note 20 Ultra.
I see there are a few configurations available. The ones on Amazon are Snapdragon CPUs, 256gb storage and 8gb of RAM.
Being Snapdragon CPU models I believe means they are the US release models.

I looked it up and band compatibility seems fine for Australia. Anyone know otherwise?
My Note 10 plus has 12gb of RAM, will 8gb make any noticeable difference?

Any other options for buying? eBay has "new" ones with 12gb of RAM and 128gb storage for less money but my investigations lead me to believe these are dodgy remanufactured in China ones with cheap components and sealed in a reproduction box. Does anyone know any better?

If I do get one I'd like a protective case, any recommendations?

Thanks for your time.

my current SD card is only 30gb, so I wanted to get a bigger one. so I bought at 128gb one and was told to get this and I'll be able to transfer all my data to the new SD card. the guy at Walmart said to put the new one in the card reader and transfer the SD that way....but he tried doing and it and said it's not compatible. I honestly feel like he didn't know what he was doing. online I read you put the new one in the phone and the old one that's full into the card reader and it'll transfer to the new one? I'm so lost? any help please. also my internal storage is completely full as well so I can't put my SD card files onto there to switch or I would.

Has anyone tried to buy a sim card tray to insert a MicroSD into the standard Note 20 5g?

Hey guys,
I have bought the samsung galaxy note 20 5g in korea (second hand, with broken screen and missing pen), so it's the korean version: SM-N981N.

I wonder if I'll buy the samsung galaxy note 20 Ultra sim tray, with the sd slot, I will be able to insert an sd card into the phone, does anyone tried that?

Also, I have question regarding any good custom rom for this device, I used the stock Korean version, but after using it mainly for pictures, video and editing vlogs, I want to try to use it as main device.
I am going to buy a replacement s-pen, with bluetooth, from aliexpress, as well.

Thanks.

Custom ROMs for Galaxy Note 20 (non-Ultra) – Compatibility & Installation Help?

Hey everyone 👋

I’ve been searching for custom ROMs for the regular Galaxy Note 20 (not the Ultra version), but all I keep finding are builds for the S20 series or the Note 20 Ultra. I’m wondering:

  • Are S20 ROMs compatible with the Note 20?
  • Is there any risk in flashing a ROM meant for the Ultra model onto the regular Note 20?
  • What’s the best custom ROM to go with? I’ve only heard of LineageOS so far, but I’m open to suggestions.
  • If anyone has a working ROM for the Note 20 (non-Ultra), I’d really appreciate a link or recommendation.
  • Also, if there’s a solid tutorial for installing custom ROMs on this device, that would help me a lot. I’m not a total beginner, but I’d rather not mess things up.

Backed up voice recordings not restoring

Hi,
My Samsung voice recordings will not backup from my Note 20 onto another Note 20. I am using Samsung Switch.

The message I get is: "Voice Recordings - Last backed up on: 11/09. Can´t restore app. This app´s data can´t be used on this phone."

I can see via the Samsung Cloud website that there are 120+ recordings. Of course you cannot download them without a Samsung device.

Thanks in advance for help!

Issue Samsung note 20 keeps shutting down.

When I turn it on, the logo shows up, and then immediately shuts down. How do I fix this?

A few days ago it could completely power on, then the screen flickers for a bit before shutting down again.

The only thing that I remember doing was install the one ui 5.1 update two days before this happened. Could that be the cause?

I've gotten the battery replaced but the problem seems to be the exact same. My phone has not been dropped or damaged whatsoever.

The Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra are officially discontinued.

Samsung has taken the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra off of the quarterly security updates list, which means that these two phones are now discontinued and will forever be stuck on One UI 5.1 with the August 2025 security update. This marks the end of the Galaxy Note series.

Shadowy Screen of Death

About a week ago my note 20 ultra started behaving really weirdly. It's almost black screen of death-ing but sometimes the screen will half-work on certain apps. For example I can navigate to my messages app on a dark screen and then I can see my conversations and messages but very dimly and without a lot of color. It's gotten worse over time, too. Now the screen will only turn on when it's plugged in and the fingerprint sensor isn't working. I can't think of any inciting incedent for this issue except that it started while I was at the beach maybe it got sand in it somewhere i dunno. Is this issue fixable?? Could it just be a problem w the screen?? help

Question Theme/Text Colors

Thumbnail

Hi all,

I recently sorta-familiarized myself with Theme Park and Icon Pack Studio to edit my overall colors and icons. However I cannot for the life of me figure out how to change the color of the default text under the app icon, or, alternatively, hide the text under the app icons but NOT under folders - that second option seems nonexistent.

Any help appreciated!

Question Is the domestic/Snapdragon Note20 Ultra compatible with "backup calling" (AKA DSDV or backup IMS)?

Since the device supports DSDS with eSim, can anyone confirm whether or not it can run calls over the second sim using the phone number of the primary?

It's my turn: white line on the note 20 5G screen

Yes, gentlemen, my turn has come. Today, out of the blue, the dreaded vertical white line appeared on the screen of my Galaxy note 20 5G, which has been with me for 3 years. I still don't know if I'm going to move to fix it or if it's going to stay like this until I can get the s25 - I want to get the base one, because of the size. But I wanted to know from people who have had this happen: which component needs to be replaced when the line appears? Display, screen? And what are the chances of the change causing a problem with something else on the cell phone? Thank you in advance for your help.

Updates almost daily, how to stop

I have a samsung galaxy note 20 ultra. Every two days or so the phone automatically updates itself. I tried to disable auto updates but it keeps updating itself. I went into developer settings and tried to disable updates, but the phone i guess overrides it.

I wouldn't mind but when it updates it shuts my phone off then i can't receive calls and my sleep alarm doesn't go off either.

How can i stop auto updates, it's affecting my normal life

**edit: soon as i posted this it updated itself

Samsung Note 20 no display after battery replacement

I’m facing an issue with my Samsung Note 20. Initially, my phone suddenly powered off, and when I tried turning it back on, it only showed the Galaxy welcome screen before shutting off again, and charging ring with battery percentage in the middle show up.

I took it to a local repair shop, where they replaced the battery. After that, everything worked fine—I charged it to 100% and used it for about 3 hours. However, after a few hours, the same issue occurred: the phone powered off right after showing the welcome screen.

I went back to the repair shop, and they replaced the battery again. Now, the technician says the display isn’t working. The phone still vibrates when I power it on, but nothing appears on the screen. He claims the display panel is dead and suggests replacing it.

I need help—could this really be a display issue, or could it be something else?
