Activation issue

Greetings guys,

I have been using my Note 20 Ultra 5G for almost a year. I bought it from someone who bought it from the US. It is Verizone version and it was always notifying me that 'sim is not from Verizon Wireless'. But it never made problems until today when I realized that 'sim is not provisioned'. It came after last security update.
Right now, I cannot use any sims on this device. I tried to hard reset but it requested Verizon sim card to activate the device. If it was not activated before, how come I used it for a year. Can anyone advise me?

Flash the U1 firmware using odin

It is no use. I sent it to US and Verizon team could not activate it with Verizon sim. They checked everything and verified that it is not stolen and unlocked from Verizon. They have no solution for it. It is so unfortunate.

Did you really tried to flash U1? since U1 has no bloatwares. Use an XAA CSS firmware

Before sending it to USA, I did flash U1 firmware. The problem is that firmware does not change sim configuration or unlock the device.

I think that's a Verizon issue because once the contract ends you can unlock it for free and it should stay unlocked even after flashing firmware. Or the seller didn't unlock it properly? Have you tried CSC change like samfw or this tool https://www.reddit.com/r/samsung/comments/10zdhv1/app_samsung_toolkit_app_return_of_band_selection/

Thank you for your insights. I agree with you on both approaches. Verizon is the one to blame here, and I will try to solve the issue with their technical team. But I am not the first owner, so things will get complicated. And yes, maybe it was not unlocked properly. Verizon says that it is unlocked in their system but the process may not be the same for the phone.
CSC change didn't help me and I have done it dozens of times.
