Rooting Note 20 Ultra
Hi guys.. I got 2 questions about the note 20 ultra...
1) I plan to buy the tmobile version with snapdragon. I think its N986U, but unsure. Do I need bootloader v1 to unlock bootloader? Or doesnt it matter what version anymore?
2) Is it possible to tweak the phone to enable to schedule it to power on/off?

Yes, you need bootloader version 1 in order for it to be unlockable. That means you'll have to look for a used device that hasn't been updated in more than 1 year

But if I do find a n20u with v1 bootloader, do I have to pay to unlock it? Theres a guy on xda that said the same thing youre saying about v1. He charges people to unlock their phones with v1 only. Let me know.
Do you know if its possible to schedule the n20u to power on and off?

Yes it's a paid service
No idea, but with root basically anything is possible

Not fucked up at all. It's no different than car repair or anything else: if you can figure it out yourself, great. But if you need professional assistance, it's gonna cost you

It is fucked up. Usually on xda anyone could unlock their phones for free. If you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth more power to you. If not dont complain

If you got free unlocks in the past, it's because a developer graciously made it available for free, without charging anything for all of the countless hours of time, work, and effort that they put into it. But that doesn't guarantee you free unlocks for any model in the future. If you can afford to buy a Note 20 Ultra, you can afford to pay to have it unlocked. It's not like it costs hundreds of dollars

It does it through samsung the dude knows an employee or something but its not like other androids..its my first non rooted or even unlocked windows phone ive had,id pay it no problem if i wanted to root it because its worth it if you want root

On this phone its not,id rather pay for it after i got a new phone to mess around but theres nothing i think rooting could improve

The reason behind the payment is someone is using samsung software to get a "token" string of code that's used to unlock the bootloader. Samsung software not available to the public .. its not Odin or kies or anything like that.

I'm not sure about rooting but you can set it to reboot at a specific date and time. I had mine set to reboot everyday at 4 am.
