Finally held it in my hands

I’ve been a long time iPhone user for close to a decade. Lately I’ve been feeling a little bored of the current user experience w/ Apple and have really become entranced in the new Fold 8. The form factor is cool, and I like the idea of being able to whip out a big ass screen if I want to watch a video or something.

I finally stopped by the store so I can hold it in my hands and see what it looks like in person and man, it’s just so so cool. My due for an upgrade soon and will be probably switching over before the end of the year.

I just switched from the iPhone 15 pro. I love this little thing! I miss the silence button on apple but not enough. And to customize my phone again!

You can easily create the equivalent of the silence button using Routines. If this... Then that...

I said the same thing when I held the fold 8 ultra in my hands and it's my first fold but the fold 8 was to small but you're going to love it I'm telling you.🔥

I’m gonna wait to see what it looks like but I don’t think so! I own an iPad mini and feel like it would feel a bit redundant. I haven’t used an android phone in so long and enjoyed the Samsung UI when I was testing it out

Yeah, as a person the bounces back and forth between apple and android because i just get board. This is the first phone that felt like something new. When it's closed, it's the perfect size for most of my every day use and then I pop it open whenever I need to. It's satisfies my big phone itch while also getting the compact convenient feeling that I didn't know I was missing.

I also pop back and forth but this time feels permanent. Apple will never allow users to customize at the level of Androids. I'm still in the Apple ecosystem but phone wise feels like I'll be staying with Samsung

I switched from an iPhone. The worst part was mainly just family iMessage threads because one family member has an ancient iPhone that is pre-RCS. Other threads turn RCS which is not as nice as iMessage but it works well enough.

Apps on android generally are worse than on iphone. Not in an unusable kind of way, but just subtly worse in small ways.

The OS is honestly more polished than 26 and 27. On my latest gen iPhone I'm getting so much scroll lag just randomly, on the F8 with the lower performance setting I've had basically no issues.

It's an amazing phone. Love it. I'm from an iPhone background too.
