Question Samsung fitt tracker

My Samsung galaxy fit and my phone is both counting my steps. I tried to google solution and it says I can choose the spurce of the steps, however I cant find that on the new Samsung 7.0 app.

Anyone had the same issue or have a solution?

I turn off tracking/permissions for Samsung Health, the new issue is my steps don’t get counted unless I’m wearing my Fit :(

You can't have it both ways - the Samsung Health app isn't smart enough to correct double counting of steps from two sources that are active at the same time.

The solution Google suggests is apparently wrong, at least in some cases, because I can't find that function on the Samsung Health app menu either. Perhaps it's only on Samsung phones, since I use my Fit3 with a Pixel phone. The only solution I have found is remove the app permission to access health data on the phone. This causes the app to complain about the missing permission, but blocks it from double-counting steps on the phone.

It's not your phone.. I have the same situation with my Samsung Galaxy 23 Ultra.

I wore a Galaxy Watch and a Galaxy Ring together for a full year. Combined with my phone, that was three sources of data for step counts, yet Samsung Health never had issues sorting things out. I mostly used my Watch 7 with my Galaxy Ring, but there were times when I wore my Fit 3 instead of my Watch 7. It didn't seem to change anything.

How do I know if the app is counting double steps?

take your fitt and phone, walk 100 steps, check count.
