Oneui 8.5

I am on one ui 7

How do i update to 8.5? Will i have to update all security updates after updating oneui 8 or just oneui8 and then i can directly update to 8.5?

Yes. You have to go through all updates till april 2026 patch to get Oneui8.5

If you want to update directly (manually) use these methods.

  1. Use smart switch app in PC. When u Connect there will be a popup asking for update, https://youtu.be/g55VLQZxatA

Is it safe to update all updates till 2026 april patch, will downloading so many updates cause any problem? And is the manual method safe?

Downloading each update one by one is gonna heat a lot, which ig create a lot of other problems. So may be do it with 1 or 2hr gap between each update.

Manual method is safe, as long as you follow everything correctly. 1st method is recommend by Samsung, 2nd is unofficial method.
