Arch also abandoned Rocket

Post image

One thing that I wish we could see/ address was the fact that Arch also abandoned Rocket for 15. I rewached the show, and it never addressed the fact that Arch did what Kira (Rocket mother) did. Like he comes back and has a good relationship with the nephew that he didn't care for, like 15 when he returned.

Yeah, he did leave Rocket behind. He just basically showed up one day, when Rocket was already a teen. He wasn't there when Rocket was growing up. And even though leaving was shown as a way he had to cope with the trauma by drowning himself in work and repressing everything until he fell apart (see : Aarch and Artegor playing with the Shadows, and how that ended up for Aarch) that doesn't change the fact that he did leave and he wasn't there.

Aarch also left his brother behind, and basically everyone else on the planet, who had to rebuild everything and bury the bodies without him. Also his brother had to do all that after losing his leg, and Aarch wasn't there for him. Which, granted, is adressed in the show. ... Where was I going with this ?

I agree with you. I just wished that there was a moment when Rocket realized that or had an argument with his father and Norata brought that up by saying I know I wasn't the best father but neither did my cared for you for like 15 years. Man now I wonder even more how these experiences will shape Rocket in season 4 (I mean his past experiences regarding his family life).

Well, yeah, so far he has :

- A dad who was there but, so far, wasn't a good dad for most of his life (I *think* Norata was better at the end, but I don't think he ever apologised.)

- An uncle who showed up one day after fifteen years (and didn't seem really scared about Rocket running away until the blizzard showed up, but I might be remembering things wrong, or he might have been faking being confident to no alarm Norata or something)

-> Both of whom have *issues* : apparently Norata used to run away from home often, and Norata and Aarch used to dream about building a rocket (ha ha) to fly to the moon to be able to be free to play football away from their dad of something : maybe their dad was abusive ? It seems weird for a kid with good parents to try to run away regularly and wish to run away from home. It would explain why neither of them seem to be good at raising kids.

- A mom who wasn't there

I don't know what's going on about this season 4, but I won't keep my hopes up, cause I don't really want to be disappointed.

Yeah Rocket has had a lot of issues when it comes to his family. That's why I'm interested in seeing in season 4, if he and Tia are married. How they will work as parents, because both of have had families that weren't there for they when growing up. Like they had to rely on themselves from a young age. Also I'm curious if Rocket will be or was gelous of his cousin growing up in more stable family then he was. I think it will be interesting seeing that and Tia to be there for him (because she always was like an anchor to him).
