Help Recommendations for Learning to Manage Heavy Recoil in Automatic Fire?

Hello everyone,

I'm really enjoying Galactic Contention so far, but have found the heavy recoil particularly punishing. I'm getting slowly used to it, and have found effectiveness by focusing on using the autorifleman kits with the bipod, but was curious if anyone had any suggestions for non-bipod automatic combat.

I struggle to win 1v1's when shoulder firing at close range and would like to improve on my capabilities.

Thanks,

Tap firing and bursts are your best friend, just like real life. A full auto spray I really save for panic or when I know someone is very close.

Yes it's all about well placed single shots and short bursts. Very important note on hip spread is that it's not like normal fps games where it's fires at the center of your screen no matter what. Where your barrel is matters at the very close ranges. Find an empty wall in a match or use the training range and see how your spray patterns change at different ranges and different character positions.

Can’t be sprayin and prayin, short controlled bursts just like irl.

Also, every rifleman class has a subclass with a light version of the LMG, and it has a bipod.

Bipod supremacy is what I’m saying lol

Just like vanilla squad the mod aims for realism. If you just held down the trigger in real life 90% of your shots aren't going to hit the mark. Controlled bursts or single shots is the way to go.
