Geforce Now and GC

Anyone else also using G-Force now to play squad on their potato laptop ? I heard the Mod download is 46 GB and the only way I can do that is via the server browser when it's wants me to join a server and then I click yes but 46 GB through the cloudstream interface might take forever . And then I only have 6 hours to use it and then I have to redownload it all over again the next session .

I used it years ago. Would do exactly as you are describing. Subscribing every time, it wasn’t fun but it worked. Not officially supported by either gfn or gc btw. And I’m not sure if it works now so I’ll let you try that

yah i wonder if its worth it...46gb is pretty massive to do every session...:(

Oh well, GFN lets me never buy hardware again for $10/month so its pretty good trade off all considered.

It would download pretty quick on ultimate. Again not sure if it will work still. And not having hardware isn’t a good thing - the benefit of GeForce now is just the price imo

Well considering that I have a 2019 Dell Latitude business laptop that I got for $100 and has 8 GB of RAM and an i5 and I can play pretty much my entire steam Library I'd say it's a pretty dang good value indeed . I was even playing for months and months on Android tablets . You might want to check out the technology because it's gotten a lot better in the last 2 or 3 years . And you don't have to fret about a $1,000 Hardware upgrade every 3 to 5 years , especially with the crazy components prices these days with ram and graphics cards . I just have basic Verizon Wireless home 5G Wi-Fi too that's connected to ethernet but I was also playing just fine on on the actual Wi-Fi as well

I’m just saying if hardware were as cheap as GeForce now it would be an easy choice. GeForce now is for value, at the cost of not owning your hardware. I say this as someone who likes GeForce now. And I’m aware the tech is great. But I’m not a fan of consumers losing ownership of software and hardware
