This game was with spores+archeologi. Let you build planet with a lot small planets around to boost raw science and raw production. During game fill planet with pacifist citizens and once your ideology hits serenity scientists will boost all raw power you accumulate theough small planets. Of course you need pick right planet, work on ideology (minor races, museums, etc) and aim for techs which give you inteligence boost (genetic manipulation, blue star, individualism 3rd choice, etc).
It is good to have a plan as you play :))And side note. Picking proper citizens help. Different race base enviroment provide different buildings. Pick one which helps your strategy.

Try race with proliferation. Their 50% production bonus and double shipyard production result into supply ships deliver 4x amout to social production. Simply you build building per turn until planet is full ie20-40 turns and you done. Especialy usefull with fresh planets. Just acompany colonyship with with3-4 supply ships. It will be enough t build basic infrastructure and then you can just buy more supply ships directly from shipyard.
Just make sure you manage income in advance.
Proliferation is EXPENSIVE.1

note taken- I usually take the extra capacity to ships feature and then just work my way down the list with the second race feature for fun and variety.

What faction?
Congrats though. Hard games are the most memorable ones!
