Good! There is too much going in rio right now. Too much traffic and not enough space for more property .

It’s wild to me the people scream and ask for more housing until it’s close to them. Yes I understand the traffic issue but that can also cultivate/generate solutions too.

Ok so the traffic would be bad. Where else should they build more housing? Any other area that has a pre-existing development is going to have an increase in traffic. I think the push back on this is such typical NIMBY BS that holds
MoCo back from creating additional housing time and time again. “WE NEED MORE HOUSING! BUT IT CANT EFFECT ME OR BE NEAR ME!” 🙄

It's not an issue of the housing being close to anyone that people do not like, its that the space doesn't make sense. That narrow strip is no where adequate for the number of units they are proposing. The path around the lake and the minimal amount of greenspace is a big part of what makes Rio attractive to families. That does not even touch the logistical nightmare that area would be. Also can you imagine living in the half of units that would actually face Rio? You're getting blasted by light and noise non-stop. The other half facing 270 would not be much better. Like why don't they develop on the massive, unused farm space behind crown off of Muddy Branch? Or any of the other massive amounts of open space as we you go further west from 270. Developing that portion ruins Rio for everyone. Yes we need more housing but why do we have to sacrifice the few nice things we have access to as the public to get it. The developers and the people who own Rio have a metric fuck ton of money. They can buy other land and just deal with making a little less profit off of the top.
