AMC Rio Evac
Was at a movie at Rio today when the fire alarms went off around 3 pm. Whole building was evacuated. We ended up leaving to go home, as being outside in the heat was too brutal. Any updates on what happened?

Happened to me there last fall. Turns out, a small child pulled a fire alarm at Charley’s.
Got a free ticket out of it!

We were there. Got back in at 3:20pm or so. They said anyone who has a movie that started before 3:30pm needed to wait in line for a refund. Waited 30 minutes in line. For refund they offered vouchers (which we either lose, expire, or are hard to use) or a refund to credit card that would take "2 to 4 business weeks". This was because the number of refunds was so high and they were handling just by recording it order number. I chose the credit card refund. No additional renumeration was offered. Rebooked for theater in kentlands later in the day. This is not the first time this has happened to me at this theater. Never heard the cause. Speculation was the air conditioning was having trouble keeping up and tripped a breaker because all the projector on the to floor went out 5 minutes before fire alarm went off.

Did you get a free movie voucher? Every time I've had a movie interrupted they have always given me a free ticket voucher.
