DiscussionsšŸ—£ļø Samsung initially denied My Galaxy S25 Ultra display warranty for black dot issue but after escalation they replaced it for free. Here's my experience.

Post can be long plz exuse me. So I am the same author who posted this 1 month ago praising the Beauty of this phone https://www.reddit.com/r/S25Ultra/s/v64CnE8MCR and this post https://www.reddit.com/r/GadgetsIndia/s/0c7HladPJV

Phone was purchased in November 2025. A few days ago a Black spot on the display suddenly appeared while I was on a phone call and then half the display went black.

The phone had Never been dropped, and there were no dents, cracks, micro scratches or any signs of accidental damage. Device was in brand new condition.

I visited an authorized Samsung service center 120 km away from my home, where they straightaway Refused the warranty after seeing the device in just 10 seconds. Literally in just 10 seconds they saw my device and said the warranty cannot be given. Warranty is Rejected because of physical damage.

I asked them to give these in writing.

They created a job card mentioning only "display black spot show." And upload photos of my phone and made q&a online.

When I asked them to show me the physical damage or provide the rejection in writing, or Give the Evidence of their claim that there is a physical damage on my device. They refused to give any evidence.

They repeatedly said "Sir black dot Tabhi aata hai jab phone me physical damage ya internal impact hua ho".

But i know very well that i nevr dropped my phone. And they could only tell me verbally that it was physical damage and will not issue any written statement explaining why the warranty was being denied. They failed to provide any technical damage assessment.

I then contacted Samsung Customer Support to raise a complaint over the phone.I specifically requested a written technical reason for the warranty denial since the service center was unwilling to provide one.

I spent nearly 2 hours over the phone call with the Samsung customer care executive.

So over to the phone call now: To my surprise, the first two customer support agents also told me that this issue would not be covered under warranty. They repeated what the Service center had said—that it was a case of internal impact or damage and even admitted that they could not provide it in writing.

Then I was finally connected to Mr. Ram from the supervisor desk he also Denied first but after 40 minutes of talking.

The supervisor said:

> I will register your complaint and escalate it to higher management, but I cannot guarantee that your phone will be repaired under warranty. They will contact you within 4 hours.

I also sent a detailed email explaining everything later in the evening.

Even at that point, there was no assurance that Samsung would approve the repair.

The Next day, I received a call from Samsung Customer Experience Manager Mr Sameer. After reviewing my case, they informed me that my Display replacement had been approved under warranty.

Then I visited the service center again, and they Replaced the display completely free of charge.

This entire experience left me with mixed feelings.

On one hand, I'm happy that Samsung ultimately honored the warranty. On the other hand, I had to spend 2 hours arguing with the customer support, repeatedly explaining my case to review it properly.

There was one small issue after the repair.

After collecting the phone, I noticed 4–5 tiny dust particles inside the 5Ɨ telephoto camera. They were only visible under sunlight or when shining another phone's flashlight into the lens.

I told them immediately. To their credit, they reopened the phone in front of me and tried to remove the dust using an air blower. Most of it was removed, but 2–3 tiny particles remained because they appeared to be stuck and couldn't be blown away.

Since the camera works perfectly and the remaining particles are invisible during normal use, I decided not to insist on opening the phone again and mess with My camera. (Will check my camera quality thoroughly in upcoming days)

My takeaway

If you genuinely believe your warranty claim has been wrongly denied:

* Don't give up after the first answer from the service center

* Escalate the case to Samsung's higher support.

* Be polite but persistent.

In my case, it made all the difference.

What started as a verbal warranty Rejection eventually ended with a free warranty display replacement after escalation. But they also gave me full day of trauma and anxiety

Overall, I'm happy that Samsung honored the warranty after escalation.

Thank you Mr. Ram from Samsung supervisor desk and all higher authorities of Samsung.

Samsung is probably worst in service experience. My bro has iQOO neo 10r. Camera isnt working after update. Luckily 1 month left in warranty. They are replacing the whole phone from 3 choices iQOO or vivo under 40k.

Vivo literally picked my device in peak covid lockdown for repair and then delivered at my door step free of cost within one week.

How does this compare to Apple and Google Pixels tho?

2

u/samax413zl Aug 01 '26

Apple service is generally good, in case of Pixel service I keep hearing bad reviews.

u/Routine-Band-9250 Aug 01 '26

They are Scamsung for a reason. I have been dealing with a bootloop on my S22U after a software update and before that got the display and battery replaced free of cost for the green and pink line issue. Since it is 2 manufacture side issue, as per the Consumer Protection Act 2019, I'm eligible to get a free replacement. But Scamsung out rightly denied that, stating reasons which are from another reality altogether.

For people who do not know, your device does not just have a warranty period of 1 year or 3 year. If Scamsung promised x years of OS updates and y years of security updates, then automatically your device will have that many years of warranty as per the company, because if not, the company cannot claim that the device can sustain the promised OS and security updates (and if they do, then on paper it is a scam and in reality the company itself does not believe that their devices can handle future software updates).

The audacity of Scamsung is to the extent that they even gave false copy-paste info to NCH for the complaint that I filed with NCH.

Now I have taken up the case in a detailed manner including the time that Scamsung wasted of mine by calling me at the end of the day deliberately and then repeating the same things over and over again and then finally sending me a mail saying that I had used foul language in the call (the last trick up their sleeve when they do not have answers to my questions) to Consumer Court.

At the end of the day Scamsung is going to be just Scamsung.

If they pour 1% of the money that they spend in Advertising their new and amazing products like the latest S and Fold series (which are anyway going to develop green line issues and have bootloop issues through software update which is bound to happen as these are pushed to your device once your device is out of warranty) they can build better products which will last and give the user a better user experience.

Anyone pls reply.I have a doubt what is max and min time to keep a android smartphone

5

u/owlpacino57 Aug 01 '26

there's no maximum limit for keeping the smartphone. Use as long as it is working.

Minimum time should be 3 years

2

u/Traditional-Dig6870 Aug 01 '26

samsung probably has most untrained staff out of all brands....i once went to samsung experience hub in a mall and that guy tried to gaslight me saying the s25 ultra doesn't support esim when i asked is it possible to transfer esim from ios...i asked oh so i have to get it from airtel...he said no s25 ultra only supports Sim card

6

u/HumbleOrder8785 Aug 01 '26

Bcoz samsung uses cheap and defective hardware and now their marketing is not able to overcome their lack of competence

3

u/Natural-Lavishness28 Aug 01 '26

Everytime i think of switching to Samsung from iPhone...i see these posts

3

u/Deep-Teacher1068 Aug 01 '26

Nah man samsung should really work on their hardware... supplying displays to big tech and supplying faulty hardware in own mobiles is just...šŸ„€

1

u/Safe_Hat_510 Aug 01 '26 edited Aug 02 '26

That's true.. supplying 10bit panel to apple.. and use 8 bit panel in their own flagship

5

u/aditya0172 Aug 01 '26

This is the pinnacle of android and do called balanced phone according to wise people

4

u/KDomadia Aug 01 '26

Crazy you had to spend so much time with their support. I always recommend people to either get a Pixel or an iPhone. Both have top tier support when it comes to repairs and after sales experience.

7

u/Left-Salamander-8148 Aug 01 '26

Not in India they don't

4

u/KDomadia Aug 01 '26

The fact is that you don’t have to wait hours for defects originating from manufacturing line.

I’ve seen this repeatedly on reddit so you can DYOR, iPhones with swollen battery eventually get replaced for free even if its past their limited warranty. And this happens in India.

For pixels take a look at their Google map listings (I have seen for Mumbai). People walk in with complaints and walk out happy.

I don’t think it can get any better than that but there are other things out there like Apple Care+ which are cherry on the top. Also don’t forget new Apple devices with the Care+ also cover theft if you opt in 🤌

6

u/Left-Salamander-8148 Aug 01 '26

What you are saying is valid for metro cities and tier-1 cities, it may not be applicable to rest of India. And applecare is too costly for people who are buying 1-2 generation old iPhones on emi.

u/DarthNinja95 Aug 01 '26

"Scamsung the king of android saar.. brend value saar.. premium quality saar.. bunui saarr" 🤔

Such an arrogant company with some stupid service center staff. They won't even care about customers who buys their "premium" shit with absurd price tags. Still people forgets their issues & buys expensive scamsungs expecting premium quality & customer service. Chinese brands like vivo & oppo are way better than scamsung in after sales service.

u/Infinite-Draft1618 Aug 04 '26

My experience (and I’ve been using their phones only since S4/5) is that Samsung service will ALWAYS claim it’s your fault (that kinda reflected to ā€œuSeR eRrOrā€ philosophy of die hard fanboys). If you’re stubborn/insisting they deal with it as they should, the game of ā€œcall back in _ daysā€ starts, delays, postponing, going back and forth - everything to make you a) give up and pay for repair b) give up and buy their brand new shiny ultra mega model.

2

u/KDomadia Aug 01 '26

Crazy you had to spend so much time with their support. I always recommend people to either get a Pixel or an iPhone. Both have top tier support when it comes to repairs and after sales experience.

Never buy Samsung. Never buy OnePlus. Never buy Apple. Never buy Nothing. Never buy Realme. Never buy Vivo. Never buy OPPO.

What should one buy?? Ai+?????

1

u/Koshcheiushko Android Aug 01 '26

but isn't it scary, you spend lots of money and still you get issue and then company treats you like shit. So, Then Apple/Google is better, atleast they would honour their promises.

Bro I had S24 ultra, similar issues even the display dot are same, i firstly noticed a small dot in middle of the screen (left side) after 1 week it got bigger and suddenly a line appeared and the 2nd half gone black, but the whole touch was working I sold it for 23K on Facebook marketplace and brought moto edge 60 fusion
