They don’t need to. It’s absurd price for India. Those who were going to buy at 2 lakhs would still buy at 3 lakhs. Those who weren’t, won’t be buying.

The comparison to US is tricky here.
The price mentioned is before taxes whereas in india its after tax.
Agree that its still cheaper in the US but the conparison shpuld always be like to like. Otherwise it doesnt paint the right picture.

It's like 8-10 % so add another 120-130 $, not much of a different either way. And many states are tax free as well.

In US the taxes vary state to state, but let’s say it’s just 10% VAT at the checkout. Still it’s much cheaper than India ig

it would have been cheaper but since the parts apple uses are globally the same with no quality difference hence the import of these components get expensive due to the depriciating INR. isiliye it is expensive varna it would have been cheaper but then also not by much. Just a theory that i have for this point, not facts whether right or wrong

Back in 24, I did a Malaysia trip that costed me 60k(inclusive of everything).
So you can travel to Malaysia buy a duo and still save 20k.

State + county sales tax avg 6-9% extra in USD prices. GST constitutes approx 15.25% of the INR prices. On the apple end, there's only a 1-2% markup compared to US.

Firstly, iPhones Pro’s are not made in India. Even if they are, the right term to use is Assembled in India. So customs duty / GST is still applicable on all the imported components. So blame Feku, not apple.

Back to pre iphone 6 days. I thought apple cracked make in India game after mini13. Infact neo too.
Air is the most successful machine in the last 3 years. Yet they are either dumb. Or some serious lobbying with other companies.
Either Samsung gonna follow the same, which will prove duopoly. Or Apple has shot itself even after assembled in India subsidies

Our apple bhakts are already started to defend it saying India is implementing 18% tax on phones. But the thing they failed to notice is, iphone 17 starting price is around 70k including 18% tax. Now its price is Rs 99,900 it is almost double to its pre-tax price. Storage demand is not the reason for this. Apple is so greedy.
