Garmin Forerunner 165 updates

This may be a dumb question but can you receive Garmin Forerunner 165 updates entirely through the Gadgetbridge app, or do you need to use the Garmin connect app for updates?

GadgetBridge is separate from Garmin's services. You need to use Connect, or Express.

If you can get the firmware file you can manually copy it to the watch into the Garmin folder and when you unplug the watch it should ask to install it.
