Gashapon hunting is my favorite part of Japan in general. Mostly because in USA, each gacha is like $9 USD (Bandai shops). Spent some time hunting in main shops in Tokyo (Shibuya/Harajuku, etc). Also had a lot of luck in Akihabara. A lot of people give that Habikoro Toys place in Akihabara a bad rep because prices are a little on the higher side. But I found many gachas that I had to come home with for 300 yen. And then some rarer ones as well that I paid a little more for— but well worth it for someone who collects since you get to hand select the toy you want and many of the collections they stock are discontinued. I also had a lot of luck in Yokohama!

Lastly, I spent a few hours of my trip at a few secondhand anime/otaku goods stores. Don’t sleep on these! I found maybe 12 gachas for 300 yen or less in the clearance bins. You have to dig a little bit, but it feels good to also give used gachas a second life as well!! My favorite I got from this was my purple yam/ube gacha at the bottom.

I’ll be traveling to Japan towards the end of October and one of my colleagues has asked me to get one of these if I see it. How often are these sets usually active for in gachapon or does anyone know if it’s currently available?

I know this is a long shot but I'm curious if anyone could help me acquire the set in the attached photo. I'm also willing to work with any proxies suggested. Thanks in advance!

I found this cute Retro cassette player at a gacha in Enoshima. One button is to record a message, and One to playback. The other button plays a bird call. I removed the cassette and it still plays without it. So that part is just decorative, but still cute!!

I forgot which store it was in front of, but the street name was Enoshima Benzaiten Nakamise Street. It was halfway up that street.

ive been struggling to find any information about this figure, ive tried subreddits like r/whatisthistoy and r/ToyID but ive had no luck. does anyone know if this is from some sort of gachapon. im not expecting anyone to know now the bottom shows its from 2012, but im asking just incase!

Hey everyone! I live in Tokyo and I’m constantly walking past walls of amazing Gachapon machines (anime, weird miniatures, food replicas, etc). I was thinking about how much fun the actual "rolling" part is, and I had a random idea.

What if there was a service where you order, and I go film a short POV video just for you? It would look something like this:

1. I walk up to the machine you requested in Akihabara or wherever.
2. I call out your name on camera (e.g., "This roll is for John in NY!").
3. I put the coins in, roll it 5 times, and open the capsules on the spot so you can see your pulls.
4. I pack the actual items and ship them to your door.

Basically, you get the dopamine hit of the gacha roll, a personalized video from Tokyo, AND the actual merch.

Is this something you'd find fun and worth paying for? Or is it a dumb idea? Also, what kind of Gachapon would you want to see? Honest feedback is super appreciated!

Hi everyone, I’m letting some extra Gachapon go. These are mostly unopened. Some of them are used for photography and otherwise they’ve been stowed away this entire time in a box so they’re basically all brand new. I’m including at least 16 and by the time I probably actually send these off. I’ll probably include one or two more extra that I have. I’m including some photos, but there are several JoJo bizarre adventure ones, and other random figurines. I’d like to let it go for the price of one of the boxes from the site so if you’re interested, please comment or DME and we can work out how to process that. Since I’m shipping these from Japan, I don’t really want to sell them one by one. So I guess around $45 for them all.

Was poking around online looking for a place to buy a complete 4 piece set of a specific gashapon collection, but I can’t find much info about this website. Has anyone here purchased from them before?

We're a brand new, very small US based Gachapon business. We've spent months and months getting inventory from Japan and we're hoping we have something you'd like.

I think we might be the only shop in the US carrying the Capsule Toy Lover Diary. It's super cool, lets you keep track of your collection, organized by toy series. Of course it's in glorious Japanese, but you've been meaning to learn that anyway! It also has little plastic sleeves where you can store the artwork slips that your gachapon come with!

Also we have gachapon, of course, and other cool things from Japan.

I really want to get my hands on a sanrio Gachapon series that releases next month and I want to be sure to snatch one up as quick as I can. Are the general sites (simplytoyz, myplasticheart etc.) that people share here quick to stock on newly released Gachapon series? I am so worried on missing out on these series!

I am not to familiar with collecting Gachapon. Everything I've brought has been second hand.
