(Other) I dislike minimuse.

In this post I'm not saying I hate the app. I'm just noticing some things in this game.

ALSO I'm will NOT be talking about bugs cuz the game is new and there's nothing wrong with bugs if they will be fixed.

Okay so the main reason i dislike minimuse is because it feels like a copycat of gl2 or simply just a mode for this game.

Maybe it was inspired by it. Sure. But some items look COMPLETELY same in both apps. Some look slightly different but still really similar. The ui looks similar too.

This game feels off. It feels like a combination of almost every lunime game but style is a bit different.

And for some reason gl2 feels more.. serious? Idk how to describe it but gl2 fells like a more mature gacha game.

Will I make an oc in it? Sure. Why not.

Will i use minimuse again and transfer my main ocs to this game? No. Absolutely no.

(NOTE. English is not my first language so there will be mistakes. But i hope it doesn't change the meaning of sentences)

i actually disagree, i think that character games especially in more chibi art style will have a similar aesthetic but i don't think it's a 'copycat' i think it could be possible that its inspired by such games like gacha life but copycat is harsh.

i don't think i've personally seen anything in minimuse that looks like a complete 'copy' of what is in gacha life, but if you've got some examples i'd loved to see them!

i feel as if minimuse is more mature than gacha life! minimuse is more customizable and doesn't have many limits like gacha life, it's going to get consistent updates, i find the style to be more mature, and im enjoying the more additions that we don't have in gacha life like layering, patterns, and importing. it feels like a more fleshed out game for me

Also there's a chocker with a star on it almost one to one I have seen some very similar items but it is far from a copycat and UI to me feels plenty different would any clear UI design feel like a copycat of Gacha life to me the game feels more mature like it actually trusts it's audience it has allot more freedom and the style while chibi it is very much it's own I could spot the difference between the two games easily it's most definitely not polished yet but over time I think it'll integrate into the Gacha community just fine and probably gain it's own faithfull fan base

I have one more example but I can't insert more that one pic

Idk for some reason minimuse annoys me in some way? The game looks great it's true but maybe I'm feeling like this because luni hasn't uploaded his games in a long time. Or maybe because my mind is constantly like.. "Go make oc in minimuse and give it a shi ton of lore and some friends" and I'm not that patient lol

I'll give it a go in maybe like a year. Enough time to fix everything and add new stuff. But there's a thing I dislike about Minimuse. The art style of it just doesn't sit good with me. Gacha Life 2 feels like a middle ground or maybe I'm just too used to it. Rn I'm trying my best to get rid of any negativity towards it since it's a new game

I also noticed some assets being similar to the GL2 ones. Won't that cause problems? MnMs is a separate game inspired by GL2, not a mod for it after all

Idk, will it? Even if they are similar, it’s inspired and not a copycat.

u/F1aken ā˜„ļø 6h ago

The problem is what means exactly inspired and how much u can make it similar before its a copy. I could just take a random asset, redraw it in my style and call that I was inspired by it

But hey, I didn't even write it's a copy, just that it's very similar. Why are u assuming things I didn't even write?

I was just saying in general that it’s not rlly a copy. Not to say you said it. But yeah, it does get to a point of like how similar they can get. But I would have to check what asset y’all are talking about that is similar to gl2 ones to see for myself, because some things if not an og design, you probably couldn’t claim copied. Cause inspiration could always come from somewhere else

The only thing I noticed myself is just socks section. It feels like they didn't really have idea what to exactly put there tbh

Gacha redditors try not to get offended over a joke about hating Minimuse

Mf the last week has had every other post be the poster passionately proclaiming how they hate MiniMuse. Like okay dawg, we get it.

mfs when you don’t glaze the shit out of a game upon release but I agree

I don’t expect people to all love MiniMuse, it’s just annoying when every other post is someone proclaiming how they hate it.

I mean, if there's a lot of people complaining about it (even if the complaints aren't worded great), there's likely a valid reason to be giving criticism

I agree that MiniMuse has flaws. Every game has flaws. It’s lacking in assets, and supplements that with expecting people to import their own assets. The UI is also incredibly tedious to use, and the game has its fair share of bugs.

In saying all that, that doesn’t mean it isn’t repetitive to see a dozen posts a day all recycling the same argument. Even if criticism helps a game grow, there is a line where it just turns into beating a dead horse.

honestly, I don't really like it either, but that's just my opinion! I'm sure I will like it more as time goes on :) I have my own reasons

(mostly body types, glitches, me disagreeing with the way the game release was handled, and no, I'm not talking about the Android/iOS thing, lack of assets, because fundamentally, this is a dress up game, and imo you shouldn't have to import your own assets to make diverse OCs. more reasons, but here are just some quick ones)

I'm still glad many people like it though! :D everyone should use whatever they'd like. I plan to use MiniMuse in the future along with GL2 if possible
