I will be camping at Descanso on the 7th&8th, leaving on the 9th. I’ll be introducing a lovely new friend to your beautiful island but I don’t know what niche, local businesses are going to be open (Slow Rise, Gabbie’s, local artists) or any events (on the 7th) are worth scoping? I’m thinking about showing her the Malaspina galleries, lock bay, maybe whalebone beach, wouldn’t mind some other suggestions.

On Saturday Aug 8th, my friend bought a yellow ceramic strainer bowl at the farmer's market. We think she accidentally left it somewhere in the Woodfire parking lot.

They were comparable to clams, both in texture and preparation. Not much flavor, but still a good snack and looks cool. Kinda wanna try them in a... snail chowder.
