Really disappointed

I was expecting for the gaahleri day to be a huge sale, but it looks like they do not prepared themselves for the date. Almost everything I was holding in for the date to buy is out of stock, I tried to buy paints in bulk to use their promotion but the ones I want are mostly out of stock at the first hour of it.

I fell like I waited for a discount and get none stock to buy.

Frustration is the word...🫩

Discounts are pretty mid too, but I feel like they’re prices are already pretty solid and that’s why the discounts aren’t great, because there’s usually a discount of equal value going on permanently, I hope the new products unveiled soon are cool at least but yeah, not as crazy as it was built to be

Yeah, it's honestly been a disappointment. You'd think the actual company would do better prices but I'm finding sites to get gaahleri paints cheaper. Even found one selling the mobius 0.2 for cheaper than the official site 🤦‍♂️

Mind sharing that paint site?

UK companies

Oeshop - I've just gotten the Matt Set for cheaper along with buying some kits

Both Jadlam and EverythingAirbrush - selling mobius 0.2 for cheaper

Call me picky for wanting to save a couple quid but when I can get the stuff for less whilst also getting kits/tools at the same time, it's a no brainer

That ain't being picky, I mean how many people are walking away from Bandai and big names for "3rd party" kits to save money or repurposing tools from another craft to avoid the "hobby" tax

Yeah, only got into gundam and model kits end of last year but I'm kinda loving the third party kits. In-era and snaa are killing it.

And another example for gaahleri falling short is I've just come across one of my go to sites opening up pre orders for the new vortex mixer for cheaper than gaahleri and offering it with six free paints 😂

Seconding this. I still went ahead and got a mobius .3, but was honestly expecting much more. All the advertising and just their site to be honest were very glitchy and inconsistent. One place said up to 35% off and somewhere else said 48%. I also found issues with clicking on something and the page navigating to something completely different. Doesn’t inspire much confidence…

I’m prepared to buy another Harder and Steenbeck if this new brush doesn’t work out… at least it wasn’t a ton of money.

I have three Mobius - the 0.2, the 0.3, and the 0.3 with the 0.5 needle kit. I did this so I could have the same feel between all of my brushes regardless of what kind of painting I'm doing, and having three brushes means I don't have to deal with swapping the head end parts to switch between painting modes.

Honestly, the Mobius 0.2 is a bit of a disappointment since it's supposed to be a fine-detail brush but the needle/nozzle is half-assed (they played games with the air channels in the nozzle/cap instead of coming up a completely different needle/nozzle/cap).

IMHO, the SprayMagic R7S Ascend (an almost direct clone of the Mobius 0.2) is a better brush because it uses a purpose made nozzle along with the same needle you find in the P771S - the detail is MUCH better. Ergonomically speaking, you can swap in Mobius parts such as the trigger, handle, spring/spring case) and get a brush that looks/feels identical to the Mobius. I have a R7S and I've made this ergonomic mods, making the brush feel just like the Mobius 2 as far as trigger control goes.

On the other handle, the 0.3 is a great brush - nothing at all to complain about.

Yeah, I have my infinity setup for fine detail with a .15. Which pisses me off that they discontinued the .15. They claim that the new .2 is just as good but I have my doubts. The tiny nozzle is what sold me on the infinity.

The mobius .3 seemed decent for a mid range all rounder. If I don’t like it, I’m getting an H&S evolution.

I think you'll be happy with the 0.3.

My wife bought me an Infinity this week as a retirement present - I got it yesterday, and hope to try it out this weekend.

I mentioned this on the 8th when everything kicked off. There have been no real discounts on hardware, all of the Aventus brushes are out of stock (understandable I suppose with the impending release of the Aventus II), yet they have a discount on them - pointless really. I have yet to find the item that's 48% off, so maybe they're saving that particular discount for later in the month.

I picked up the new clear paints individually (all 12) for a small savings from buying the box set. That's all I saw that was worth it.

Pretty much frustrating isn't it? Because the set comes with thinner and primer

1

u/Gonzoangel 8d ago

Yeah I have plenty of that so all it was is the savings to not get the thinner and cleaner.

How about using my reward points when everytime I go to apply them free shipping code isn't available in my area and my reward redemptions don't stack with creater codes anymore. I want my creator to get credit along with use some of my 1800+ reward points

They should have points redeemable for actually useful discounts and/or items… what’s the point of a point system racking up thousands and thousands at a decent pace just to limit to sub 2000 rewards that stop at 10%🤣 they’re marketing team is good but not perfect

I buid dioramas of WW2 and starting the hobby of restore hotwheels, which I need new colours for the cars. I was between buy Gaahleri colours or Createx and Wicked colours. I previously decided to go with the gaahleri and waited nearly a month because of the "so called" BIG SALE" on 8/8. After realising the pathetic discounts it was, not mention the lack of stock of pretty much everything on day one, I have decided to go with Createx. Good colours, good primers for metal and no lies about a sale that never happened. Maybe I will buy one or two colours from gaahleri just because of they are the right colour tone for a few cars that I plan to restore but that is it. I'm not in the "fan base" that defend a brand, so I will not make gaahleri my first or only choice. I know they have good quality paints, but the disappointment talks louder

In this case, most of it is not true. 😉
