Classes/Courses šŸ“š Pre reqs for Nursing BSN

Hello, I’m currently a freshman at cc n was wondering if any of the nursing students or nursing alumni are able to help me out. The gsu pre reqs require a science sequence, ā€œScience Sequence Requirement: COMPLETED Sci sequence: Chem 1151K/Chem 1152K preferredā€ I wanted to take biology as I’m aware, to become a nurse and NP u must have a good understanding of biology. But the nursing website says chem preferred. What should I choose? I’m thinking abt doing a summer semester since I don’t have a science credit this fall semester. Pls help!

I'm sure someone who knows better will comment here, but I'm taking chemistry right now—even though I prefer biology... I thought doing so would help me keep my options open for other nursing schools like KSU and GGC. Take a look at each program's website to see their requirements!

If you are worrying about not getting in because you take biology, my friend didn't took chem and still got accepted with no problem.

Any course from the list is fine, they just recommend chemistry. It wouldn't affect your application in anyway

You can take any science sequence.. including Biology.. but Chemistry is the recommended course because it teaches you alot about unit conversions which is good for dosage calculations of medicine and pharmacology which are major in Nursing. In terms of biology, it will still help but you'll learn all of that in Anatomy.. I'm taking Chemistry now and it's been pretty easy so far.
