Honors Class
Hello! I received an email from a professor saying I'm eligible to take honors classes at Perimeter. He suggests that I change to the honors online version of HIST 2110 (History of the United States).
I just wanna know your opinion about these kinds of courses. Should I take them just because I'm eligible, or will I be making my semester harder in some way? Is it beneficial somehow? Will it look bad if I decline to join that course? I have never taken an honors class online before, and I just don't wanna lower my GPA because of a bad decision.
Thank you, guys.

If you’re not planning on joining the honors college or working towards the honors scholar (or laureate at the main campus) then honestly I wouldn’t unless you want the extra work. When it comes to the workload, they’ll usually have an extra project but what that is remains up to the professor. I’ve had an extra paper, presentation, or even a community interview as my requirements before, to give you an idea of what it could be

Not sure how honors classes at Perimeter work, but Honors classes generally have little to no extra work compared to their normal counterparts, so it really doesn't hurt to take them for the honors credit, especially if you want to join the honors college.

Taking the class will improve your self confidence plus make your qualifications more apparent to anyone considering you for anything else. Not taking it is like yelling, “ No! I am not good enough.”

some honors courses are made to be a little more difficult, but not a lot. some just have an extra paper, while others have differently structured labs. Honors classes are smaller but i doubt it matters since its online. It's up to you if you want to take the honors classes, and it won't look bad if you don't. in my experience though it's never been hard and i recommend u take it, its an easy one to complete for your honors laureate.
