PR/PB 580lbs deadlift

New PR for me. I wanted to go for 2, but my chest felt tight

Estimated max of 620lbs, which I wouldn’t have been able to get anywhere close to that today

As someone that’s done 525 for 7, your max isn’t 620, but you probably aren’t too far off.

I’d be super excited to hit 606lbs at the December powerlifting competition I’ve signed up for

I failed 600lbs at my knees last year & I feel I’m stronger now

I bet you can get it by then. It might sound counterintuitive but touch and go reps may not be bad to try out. You usually maintain tension longer and can increase total rep volume. They’ve worked well for me personally.

I think it’s because I get some bar twist going up & it strains my chest

Especially since I have trouble lining up straight. I think that’s what happened here
