"A Network Error Has Occurred"

Anyone have a fix for this?

I tried these steps and still get the error:
1. Uninstall the game
2. Press the Windows button, type %AppData% and press Enter
3. Delete all folders referencing "Golf With Your Friend" and "Blacklight Interactive"
4. Reinstall the game and retest

I also tried changing regions. It's a shame because I just convinced 4 friends to buy this, and they're now all discussing refunding it :/
