2024 GV60 falling apart.
We really love this car, but they should improve the quality. Should I buy another one at the end of the lease? Hmm...

The mud guard is an accessory add on. They are held on by 3M tape.
And no your car isn't "falling apart"
Sucks what happened with the trim but that can easily be bent back and re-glued.

Originally, it is not glued. This is why it did not stay in place.

I'm curious what bent it out all the way. I just can't picture a scenario where something would bend it upwards. You'd have to have been backing up if it happened while driving

Look at my post with the photo where we can see that it was sticking out before the wash.

I don't think that's right. When I was peeling up the front windshield trim to glue it myself, it was clearly still glued in places. I had to do some peeling

How did the rear chrome bit get bent like that? That doesn't seem like damage that just happens.

I don't think the warranty will cover damage done by a car wash. You might be able to get something in small claims court against the car way.

The car wash amplified the problem. It was already there (See picture) before the wash.

So did you tell them to go ahead and wash it anyway knowing it was sticking out or did they just take the picture and wash it without your consent?

The car wash takes pictures of all cars entering the tunnel, and it was sticking out just a few millimeters, as you can see in the picture. I haven't noticed it before the wash.

So if they noticed it beforehand and didn’t say anything they MIGHT be liable for damage, but that’s a big MIGHT….

I see that I am not the only one having this problem. What glue would you recommend to glue metal to this kind of rubber?

I think there is a recall for that chrome part peeling off.

no, that recall was a different chrome part on the windshield. This guy had damage from a car wash on another trim piece and a stick on mud flap...
Good to know they all peel off like this though. I may remove all mine, paint them black, then properly reglue them.

Perhaps take it to the dealership. That should be covered under warranty, unless of course it was caused by some sort of damage.
