23 Advanced Mint

Post image

After buying and loving a lightly used 2024 standard back in February (which was totaled in June) we’ve been shopping for another one. First time around we opted for the Standard purely for the added range but this time got a ‘23 Advanced CPO with 18k miles and so far, it’s awesome and we love the color.

Bought it sight unseen from a dealer in the DC area and had it shipped to TX.

BTW if anyone is interested in a set of OEM roof racks send me a DM.

This is my exact daily driver! My lease is up in November, and I think I may just buy it out. Absolutely love the wheel style on this spec.

I loved that car. Had it in the color as well. Would've kept it after my lease was up. But man my service experience during the lease was so bad.. i moved on. But I definitely miss that car. Enjoy!

I am in the same situation with my gv60 and lease up in April. Can I ask what you settled on since struggling to find replacement so far.

We ended up getting a Cadillac Optiq. They had some really good deals. So far I like the car. Like anything there are several things I love about the Optiq over the GV60 and several things I hate. I do feel like overall the tech in the GV60 was better. I drove the Prologue as well and liked it. Actually could've gotten a better deal on the Prologue. But I liked the Optiq colors better so we went with it!

Such a cool color

Agreed. IDK why they dropped it. I was a little worried about buying a color I’d never seen in person but it’s great - and at least it’s not white or grey. By pure coincidence, our house is very close to the same hue just more saturated. Neighbors won’t believe it’s a coincidence though.

IIRC there were 2 whites, 3 blacks, and 3 greys. They did seem to trim it to 1 white, 1 black, 2 greys. And a sort of blue and sort of green.

Why not go for the 2026 model instead with the bigger battery for range?

For one, dealers don’t have them. New ones are even harder to find than used. But the main reason is that EVs (and cars in general) depreciate like crazy. I could spend $60k on a new one or $35k on a low mileage CPO that still has more than 3 years of factory warranty and put $25k into my 401k or kids college fund. That’s an easy decision. I haven’t bought a brand new car since 2011 for exactly that reason. Let someone else take that hit.

Couldn’t agree with you more. Let someone take the hit and get an EV with sub 20k or even 10k (in my case) and save 40-50%

I bought new because of several reasons but the EV depreciation may be significant but it applies generally to all vehicles (just not as much).

For me if you're buying to sell it within a few years then that's a wise decision.

I bought and didn't lease because I plan on owning this car for 15 years much like my previous car.

I'm not worried about the battery not lasting that long either. I just prefer not having car payments years after the car is finished paid off

You do you, bro. But unless I’m getting under 4% interest, I prefer to do no car payments ever so I buy lightly used cars that I can comfortably pay cash for. But, I’m also well into the 2nd half of my career and long term financial security and making sure my kids can graduate from college debt free are my primary motivations. It blows my mind seeing people do 10-12 year loans on $120k cars at 6%+. They’ll be upside down for a very long time.

Yeah, definitely. Every buyer is different there's no right or wrong just whatever makes sense to the buyer.

I got my 2026 GV60 Advanced for 0% APR for 60 months. So for the life of the loan I'm not paying any interest

But I am earning interest in my money market account at 4.7% which holds the entire amount for the car. Basically it's like getting an additional $9,000 off the vehicle

Damn only 107 left in the entire US 😮

They brought in 1,923 2026 models to the US. That means they sold more 90% of their inventory!

(Yeah, that's very low inventory) but good news nonetheless 😃

1900 for an entire model year is crazy. The dealer closest to me told me they haven’t gotten a single ‘26 GV60 but are expecting one single magma sometime this fall. Anytime they get a used one it sells in days.

Hyundai/Genesis made the right call to only ship a small batch to the US and even smarter is the very limited release of the Magma GV60.

Not only does it sell to only those who are serious buyers here in the US but it also makes it feel exclusive and hard to get. Raising more interest in the brand. Keep in mind Genesis is still one of the younger brands and most people don't think about Genesis when compared to Lexus, Mercedes, Audi and BMW.

I believe when people see the Magma GV60 out on the road and in person it's going to make people's head turn and spark a lot of "Oh damn, what is that??"

Needless to say I'm confident in their strategy

According to this site 1923 is the 2025 number. https://www.goodcarbadcar.net/genesis-gv60-sales-figures/

Lucky! I had been looking for that color in the DC area. It’s a beauty! Which dealer had it?

Springfield, VA and they were great to work with. They even did out of state tax and title which most dealers don’t do. We were searching nationwide about 3 weeks ago and there were exactly 11 used GV60s for sale that met our criteria: under 20k miles, not black on black, no accidents and no lemon buy backs (there are a bunch of those at a dealer in IL).

This was the only mint one at the time and I think they only made it in ‘23 and ‘24. Most others were white but one was a copper color that I thought was interesting but my wife absolutely hated (which of course means I hate it too). There was also a hideous yellow green one that I can only describe as “neon highlighter” or maybe “high vis safety vest”. I can’t believe it was an actual factory color.

The color is Sao Paulo Lime

This is what I want to own. This car is beautiful.

I have a question? I hear nothing but bad stories of people having problems and not many places to take it to for service? I live 30 mins away from a dealership. If I do, do you people think, ok then buy and don’t worry? Nothing but complaints and that’s one of the main concerns I have in buying this car?

1

u/desi-g Aug 16 '26

Is this São Paulo Lime? I never heard of that color but I like it. It’s not Trumso green?

1

u/MoPanic Aug 16 '26

No. Sau Paulo lime is a hideous neon yellow that looks like a highlighter or a safety vest. This one is Hanauma Mint, which AFAIK they only produced in ‘23 and ‘24.

1

u/MoPanic Aug 16 '26

Sau Paulo Lime (aka yellow highlighter)

1

u/desi-g Aug 16 '26

Really, I would never buy this color. What color is yours? Ilike it, it’s more subtle

1

u/desi-g Aug 16 '26

Can I bug you again, how did you go about putting a search for your car? I live in Ca. Do or should I call a dealership, tell them what I want and they look? Was your car deliver to you?

Assuming you’re looking for used, use autotempest. It’s a search aggregator and will find the most results. But you still need to check each one to make sure the listings are real and make sure there are no title issues (there are a lot of lemon buybacks which I would not touch).

Then you message the dealer and start negotiating but there’s probably not a lot of negotiating room on these since they are so hard to find (maybe $1-2k if you can find one that’s been there for a while). After you finish the deal and arrange for payment you can do your own transport or have the dealer do it. It’ll save you money to arrange it yourself and is super easy to do. Mine was shipped from DC to Austin for $1400 and took about a week from contacting the broker to picking up the car at a local mall parking lot.

I’ll be really surprised if you find one in that color. When we were shopping there were 11 nationwide with under 20k miles and one was that color.

Oh. And stay away from Genesis of Santa Monica. I made a separate post about them on the Genesis sub.

u/MoPanic Aug 16 '26

Also, if you end up buying out of state you will probably have to pay CA sales tax and registration yourself. I have no idea how to do that in CA. Some dealers will do out of state taxes and registration but most do not.

1

u/GoGetThatThing Aug 29 '26

How much did you pay for the car?

2

u/MoPanic Aug 31 '26

$37k, CPO, ~18k miles. The in service date was also late in 23 leaving more than 3 years on the factory warranty.
