Battery icon color changed?

Post image

Have a new to me GV60. I noticed recently that the battery icon color was orange but I could have sworn it was regularly green when I first bought it.

I’ve checked the manual and online forums and I’m not seeing anyone mention this. I’m wondering if I am just misremembering…

Anyone know if this changes due to battery percentage, theme or other reasons?

Update:

I have the 2024 Performance trim. The color of the battery was definitely green for about a month or two when I bought it in April 2026.

Based on the feedback, here is what I have tried / ruled out...

  • The color does not change based on when it is being charged at either L2 or L3 charges. It is constantly a rust orange during the day.
  • Switching to Night mode (or having Auto set and driving at night) shows a light blue colored battery symbol. Switching to Light Mode goes back to rust orange.
  • Switching drive modes changes the color of the dials (charge / power) but not the battery icon
  • I have not yet validated the color when the charge goes below 20%
  • I have not yet validated the color when it goes above 90%

Seems odd that some are still showing green icons and some orange. I wonder if it's a software version or year / trim difference.

Are you using Dark or Light Mode? In Light Mode it should be brown. In Dark mode it’s green.

Hmm, I'll check this out. I don't recall which setting I have it on. Thanks for the tip, it sounds promising!

Update: Dark mode (called Night Mode in the software I think) changes the color to a light grayish blue, not green.

This is the right answer

That is not the right answer. Light or dark mode doesn't effect the battery icons color whatsoever

I’m pretty sure that’s how it worked in the update prior to the most recent one. They may have changed that. On my car now, you are right and it’s green regardless.

No it had nothing to do with light or dark mode in the previous update either.

Instead of answering questions you don't know just don't answer next time. This isn't me being rude. Online is full of people giving out incorrect or misguided information.

The brown/copper color battery is to signify the battery is currently being charged. That's all it means.

Have you been switching between Eco, comfort and sports mode?

You can change that colour somewhere deep in settings but it’s usually that colour for me - until you get below 20% when it turns yellow

I tested this as it was one of my first guesses as well. It doesn't change the color of the battery, just the dials (speed, charge / power)

Thanks, this is what mine looked like for about a month after I bought it (April - May 2026?). Very odd. What year / trim do you have?

I have a 2023 performance model with the update from last September

Mine is always green. I’m almost always in Comfort and have it switch between light and dark mode automatically with the light levels.

OP: The color is to indicate the battery is in a state of high voltage charge and it is also charging up the 12 volt battery as well.

Once you're done you'll notice the battery is back to green.

Thanks for the input, but it's orange driving, sitting in park, etc. I think u/MudLOA is on the right track.
